I’ve been troubleshooting this issue with my LR3 for a few weeks now. It will only turn on when I apply a lot of pressure on the power jack and the moment I let go it turns right back off. As long as I apply pressure it will rotate and function normally, but still not an ideal situation for a $600 robot.
I finally bit the bullet and contacted tech support after doing all the trouble shooting I felt I was capable of doing. So I explained the problem and the tech came to the conclusion that the issue was the circuit board. I essentially asked them to explain how that would fix my problem, as this is physical port issue and nothing to do with the actual functions. I explained again that the robot worked fine as long as I applied pressure to the port and this seemed to stump them, so how would that equate to a circuit board issue that was directly connected to the buttons? Anyway, after disappearing for about 25 mins they couldn’t figure it out so I got a free LR3 base as a one time courtesy.
Anyway, moral of the story is if something doesn’t make sense you should definitely question it. And that Wesley who works for Whisker is a real homie, thanks man!
I’m testing in a couple months and have kind of stagnated. I know there’s plenty available online but I’m an in-person kind of learner. Just trying to see what’s out there in the area
