My boyfriend and I wish to dress up as king and queen for the ren faire and were originally just going to do basic ren faire Queen and king attire. Then I got to thinking about how I love how hanfus look and was thinking about maybe wearing a traditional hanfu and do a sort of empress look (probably just do my hair and makeup causal) would this be disrespectful and is there anything I should know if I decided to do this. I only wish to be educated even if it is a dumb question.

I am very unknowing about everything related to hanfus and if it’s okay for me to wear I will learn more before doing so.

TDLR: Is it okay for me to wear a hanfu for an empress look for the ren faire?
