you will die at the end of the tunnel behind pig

when you're down in the sewers where pig is, ya know where you can get the saw hunter badge and take that lil alcove up to father g, if you kill pig and then go run past him, you will fall down a chute and die.

i learned that today.

why is that chute there? is it an elevator shaft at some point? does it become something? or is it just meant to trick suckers like me?

ETA: I love this community. I’ve made 3 posts in the last few days and yall have been supportive, helpful, funny, and kind on all of them. I’ve never experienced that in any subreddit before. Warms my heart. Enjoy the hunt.

the run to father gascoigne

hey all, I fought father gascoigne for the first time today, got him down to 50% health! obviously i'm just beginning my battle against him.

i noticed in all of the youtube videos, people choose to go down to the sewer instead of crossing the bridge to get to him. it seems almost just as risky though, cause you gotta go by that boar creature and some of the youtubers i've watched seem pretty high up (they have tons of blood echoes and insight) and i've seen a bunch of them still get dragged pretty badly by the boar while trying to get through the shortcut.

i've only gone to father gascoigne 3x now (and only actually went in to fight him 1x) and all 3 times i chose to fight everyone on the bridge before going up to him. that somehow felt faster, although it was stressful. i have not yet tried just running past them, and wanted to know if that's possible?

anyway basically my question is: why does everyone seem to take that shortcut through the sewers? doesn't seem to actually be a shortcut imo and looks pretty dangerous but i guess the most experienced players know something i don't?

hurricane song meaning

Hi, the man who introduced me to Thrice told me that Dustin wrote Hurricane about his wife dying of cancer, and that they saw him talk about in an interview and that he cried, and they've seen videos of him crying while performing it.

while I just randomly did a lil internet dive on Dustin and it looks like he's married to the same person since 2002....

anybody know wtf the man who introduced me to Thrice was talking about?

apologies to whoever i summoned

I have no idea what's going on. I was given a bell in the hunter's dream, and then went back to central yharnam just going about my business, and when I went near the fountain (that's on the other side of the bonfire with the mob), there was what looked to be a lit lantern like to return to the dream so I interacted with it and a moment later there was another player with me. I was on my way back to my lantern to drop off blood echoes so poor sucker just followed me all the way back, albeit killing folks along the way.

Hi, last night at like 7pm I set my crockpot to cook at low for 12 hours to make bone broth. When I was heading to bed, the crockpot had 8h30m left, so I reset it to 12 hours at low. That was probably around 11:30pm or so. I went to bed and slept in, then hung out in bed awake for another hour before going downstairs. I went downstairs at 10:30am. I figured I was still within the 12 hour window (I didn't do math, but seems like I should've been) and that even if I wasn't, the crockpot would've turned itself to the warm setting.

Well I went downstairs and the crockpot said OFF in red letters. The soup is hot to the finger touch, but not too hot (like it's comfortable to touch and probably to eat).

Any ideas about how long the crockpot had been off and if the bone broth is safe to eat?

I was making a huge batch to give out to neighbors and family. Feels like a waste to throw away.

I was making a huge batch to give out to neighbors and family who are sick/going through surgery/chemo treatment. Feels like a huge waste to throw away, but they're definitely not a population I want to give food poisoning to.
