Always remember your future self, picture it. That figure that never succumbs to these lowly images and videos

Brothers, always remember and visualise that man. The man that will one day come out of this and never, ever go back. Play stories in your mind, have conversations of that future. Imagine it with so much clarity at each moment of silence that you have in your day, that you will see, your soul will eventually defeat your nafs and you will be reborn to be the man that your mind, soul and body yearn to be.

Very useful tool to overcome help in nofap

Assalaam alaykum everyone,

I wanted to tell you of a tool that I use to keep me in check. It helps to give me a thorough perspective of how far I have come, where I am and how far I can take it. For example, it will as almost like a personal friend.

I use Google's Gemini. Ill ask it to give me an update, it will tell me you are X days into it and it will give reasons why I maybe feeling the urge at that day, week.

I learned this:

Research on behavioural addictions and dopamine receptor recovery (such as findings highlighted by Dr. Anna Lembke at Stanford and Cambridge University habit research) indicates that 6 to 8 weeks (42 to 60 days) of continuous abstinence is the primary threshold where spontaneous intrusive imagery drops off dramatically.

Brain imaging shows that by Day 90, dopamine D2 receptor density in the striatum and prefrontal-striatal connectivity show significant, measurable recovery toward normal baselines.

This is why the "90-day reset" is the gold standard in behavioural addiction recovery: by this point, your brain has officially built strong, alternative pathways, making visual flashbacks virtually non-existent under normal conditions.

It takes 42 days of not watching the dirty videos for the intrusive imagery to drop off. This doesn’t meant it will stop completely, rather its that over-bearing, overwhelming wave of heat-thought that becomes miniscule, hence why it is best to change terminology in your mind.

Instead of saying to ourselves 'porn', use the word 'dirty, disgusting, degrading videos'

Instead of saying 'I have completed X days', say 'Regardless of X days, I am not watching that dirty, disgusting videos'

I want to write more about this and other ways that can help, if brothers find this useful, I will work on it more, In Sha Allah.

I ask Allah (swa) to make these dirty videos truly disgusting in our hearts and despicable in our minds, Allahumma Ameen!
