Non-toxic omegaverse/mpreg books that aren't mostly just smut either?

I don't yuck anyone's yum, I am just personally a very "vanilla" person.

I am also asexual and while I do like smut (yeah, idk how that works either) I find books that are mainly just smut boring to read personally. I love it when the sexual content is the result of romantic yearning/pining.

I feel like there are literally no books for me based on these preferences. Not just when it comes to a/b/o but in general. Maybe I'm just not good at searching? It's not even that I want books with ace characters because reading is a form of escapism for me and honestly I don't really want to be reminded of my own identity while engaging with fiction, it feels too real (I am very happy for ace rep though as there's not much of it!).

Yeah, ignore this rambling. Anyway.

Bonus if the book has these tropes:

  • Accidental pregnancy (/contraceptive failure)
  • Fated mates/soulmate marks
  • Modern setting
  • No fantasy/scifi elements please (other than the usual a/b/o stuff) <3
  • Office/college romance/celebrities
  • MCs that bicker a lot

Danmei/Japanese/Korean/Thai/etc bl is also ok.

How do you display very thin, magazine-like albums?

My ult group (Cravity) has some very thin and tall albums that are almost like magazines. I heavily prefer box albums as they're easier to display but I also want to collect these thin ones. However, I have no idea how I should display them. Any ideas?

People who live in the EU, where do you find obscure-ish merch from lesser known groups?

Cravity is my ult and I'm desperately looking for Jungmo's character keychain doll but it's sold out on kpopmart + ktown4u, and ebay sellers also have his specific doll out of stock (I guess he's popular lol, good for you Rangmo).

What other options do I have that wouldn't cost me a thousand euros, half a kidney, my soul, and a blood sacrifice for lovecraftian cosmic wish-fulfilling gods?

Books that read like fanfiction?

I know that's not the most specific title but I think fic readers may get what I mean. I desperately wantttt to read a good romance but all I liked this year was just... fanfiction.

Obviously part of it is the already existing emotional attachment to the characters, but also like how some fanfiction plots are structured:

  1. No side plots, long character introductions, long backstory setups, solo arcs or flashbacks.*
  2. Characters already know each other. Lots and lots of mutual pining, yearning, feelings realization.
  3. A good ol' "wait why am I turned on by him?" moment that may or may not lead to some emotionally repressed sexual mishaps
  4. Maybe a bit of jelaousy
  5. One character finally can't take it anymore and confesses in a very distressed "I like you, please don't hate me" way.
  6. Happy end.

Usually written in third person.

The only mm book I read recently and loved was Fanservice Paradox. This is danmei. I'd argue it's very fanfiction-ey too? It was sooo good, although being a webnovel, it kinda went on and on with lots of filter.

A few years back I read Carry On by Rainbow Rowell and liked that, too (I know there's a sequel but I only like the get together part of romances so I don't read sequels lol).

(*I know this one is controversial; I am an avid litfic reader, it's not that I have anything against complex prose or lengthy character exploration. That's just not what I read romance for.)

I am in a major gaming slump, can you recommend something based on my taste?

My absolute favorites:

  • Skyrim
  • Baldur's Gate 3
  • Disco Elysium
  • Horizon Zero Dawn + Forbidden West
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 (I have no idea how I left it out of the list)

Played and liked:

  • Kingdom Come Deliverance (took more than a year to finish)
  • Slay The Princess
  • often casually play The Sims 4 and sometimes Stardew Valley

Tried but dropped:

  • The Witcher 3 (people always want to crucify me for this one but I just couldn't get into it)
  • Ghost of Tsushima
  • Outer Wilds (it gave me motion sickness. I also just don't really like puzzle games.)

I don't like souls games or roguelikes (as they usually focus mostly on combat). I like challenge but not hardcore grind.

I want to read a book that is unironically really bad, and I don't mean "hated bestseller", but genuinely horribly written to the point it's funny

Have you ever seen a Neil Breen movie? I want that, but in book form. No Twilight or Colleen Hoover or whatever hated bestsellers are out there, I want something that reads like publishing it was a money laundering scheme.

Obvious satire doesn't count, I want something that takes itself completely seriously. I want to feel the author's lack of self-awareness on every page.

Are there any idols who like games that are not online shooters/mmorpgs?

When idols say their hobby is gaming 99% they mean that they play LoL and... pretty much nothing else. Not that there's anything wrong with that but I don't think I've ever heard of an idol who likes story games or niche horror games or something.

I know some idols play Animal Crossing and Tomodachi Life but that's about it. I'd be funny to hear an idol talk about playing Skyrim or something, lol.

Is ebay a safe website to order pcs from? Is this particular seller legit?

Hello dear friends.

I've been looking for a specific Cravity photocard and I've found it for dirt cheap on ebay (given that it's a regular album pc, that's not surprising) from this seller called Kpop_Center. he shop has very positive reviews, so I decided to do some more browsing and I found a specific fansign poca that is literally my dreeeam photocard but couldn't find it anywhere else before.

They also sell some older albums for really cheap, which I might order with the two pcs to make up for the shipping cost if you know what I mean lol. I'd rather buy more but get my money's worth on a joint shipment.

All in all, I would still be under 40$ which is insane... sounds almost too good to be true.

Is this seller reliable? Any experience with ebay in general? Since I am European and third-party apps aren't that common, I usually just order things by direct pay through websites... ebay is definitely safe to use like that, right?

Slow burn, intense mutual pining where the MCs meet through a mutual friend/the love interest is the roommate of the MCs best friend/similar setups?

Hyperspecific request but I've been reading way too many fics with this kind of plot and since I am a rare pair shipper, I read pretty much everything on fanfiction sites lol...

So, now I am turning to original works with a similar setup!

I would looove a req even more if it also includes:

  • Mutual jealousy, like the two MCs catching each other being flirted with at a party and silently fuming about it (they should not reciprocate the flirting, sleep with anyone else though)
  • college setting
  • POC characters or set in a country other than the Anglosphere
  • if the MCs have a cute teasing dynamic. Like, their love language is "bullying" each other :D
  • Young adult MCs
  • Reluctant allies to friends to lovers / FWB to friends to lovers

Please don't req anything that includes:

  • Non-con/dubcon
  • Age gaps
  • Kink dynamics/bdsm
  • Polyamory
  • Fantasy/scifi settings
  • Historical
  • Parenting/previous relationships being a plot point
  • SA (even just as a backstory)
  • Heavy angst

Best open world story games with crafting/resource collecting?

I played both Horizon games a year ago and I really loved absolutely everything about the gameplay mechanics (the combat, the scavanging for parts, everything).

Are there any other games with a very similar-feeling gameplay loop? (no souls- or roguelikes)

What is considered a good number of album sales for mid-tier groups nowadays?

I am a bit out of the loop with kpop and I'm wondering what is considered a good (or in the very least a profitable) amount of individual album sales nowadays.

Obviously Big 4 groups can usually reach well over millions, but what about groups from smaller companies or groups that are somewhere between "nugu" and "profitable"?

Help me find a group with similar vibes to my ults that are NOT likely to disband any time soon? (Pentagon, A.C.E, etc)

Pentagon was my ult group for years and honestly their silent disbandment hit me really hard. I do follow the solo careers of the members, but I miss being as invested in a kpop group as I was in Pentagon.

Listening to their songs now feels like seeing an ex lol. I think back of them very fondly, though.

What I liked about Pentagon:

  • (possibly self-produced) well-written and fun songs like Shine, Skateboard, Lukewarm, Summer, Daisy and pretty much all of their songs (thank you Hui). Energetic isn't a Pentagon song but was also produced by Hui. That kinda vibe!
  • The relationship between the members! They were all very close and honestly it made the fandom atmosphere very fun, especially when they went on variety shows. For some reason group members actually being close is important to me when stanning a group. Pentagon really was like a family.
  • Unique members. This one may sound strange but all of the members had a very unique vibe and visual to me, which I found fun and interesting.

As for A.C.E, all of the point mentioned above apply, although they weren't self-produced. What I liked about them was their (at that time) unique concept (just look at this photo from one of their albums). I love how colorful and loud their concept was, often mixing feminine and masculine fashion elements.

And lastly, I liked that both groups had a very queer-friendly vibe, and the members have actively spoken up for the queer community. As a queer fan, I don't like to support groups if I am not really sure where they stand on such things.

(Also I know neither are technically disbanded but they don't actively promote as a group anymore, so that's that. At this point I am over the "denial" stage of grief.)

Lighthearted, short but well-written standalones where MCs are dorm roommates/apartment neighbours going to the same college?

Hello dear Reddit people. I am ashamed to admit but I am looking for a book I can read in a few days to fulfill my self-assignment reading quota of two books a month.

(I have become quite lazy with everything going on with my life so at this point Goodreads's monthly challenge is the only thing to motivate me to read. Perhaps that's a bit pretentious, but hey, at least I am reading.)

Therefore, please recommend me some short, easy reads with the setting mentioned in the title! Only contemporary, no fantasy or scifi or anything supernatural please. I just want something nice and plain.

I am definitely a cis woman but I want to be feminine in a way cis men can be. Do any of you relate?

This might be an incredibly niche experience but sometimes I look at cis men and get some insane gender envy even though I am definitely a cis woman.

I thought that I may be something else, but no other gender identity feels like "me". Honestly not even womanhood, but agender either? Like, if anything I'd just want gender not to exist at all and have no label like that, but since gender DOES exist I am fine being a cis woman.

At the same time, though, I want my femininity to be perceived not as part of my womanhood but as a part of me if that makes sense. And sometimes I don't want to be perceived as feminine either, more like androgynous. I don't know. I use she/they/any pronouns but I wonder if that's offensive to trans people somehow as a cis woman? Yeah, at this point I am just rambling.

Gender is weird. I don't want to be anything other than a cis woman but I wish I was feminine like a cis man can be feminine, or androgynous in that way. Kinda like some male kpop idols lol, you know the ones. Does anyone relate?

I have a crisis over this at least once a month.

What song is "People Talk" by NAZE (boy group debut) sampling?

The melody is very familiar to me but I can't for the life of me remember from where, and I can't find anything in the credits either. Here's the song.

(This isn't some sneaky promo btw, I have no idea who this group is lol. I like the song though!)

Which 5th gen boy groups are doing the best that are NOT from the big 4?

I see some 5th gen girl groups that are doing very well even if they're from smaller companies but for boy groups I couldn't name as many. In your opinion (and according to sales/streams/etc) which 5th gen non big-4 bgs are the biggest?

Hello people. I am an older mostly bg stan just getting back into kpop. I've been listening to releases from new bgs but few of what I've listened to so far quite scratched that itch for me.

Other songs/artists I used to like:

  • I used to ult Pentagon, I like every single one of title tracks but Feelin Like and Do or Not.
  • Movie Star by CIX (painful mention, I know, sorry)
  • Energetic by Wanna One
  • WANNABE by Golden Child
  • Face by Nu'est
  • Rooftop by N.Flying (and others songs)
  • Get Cool by Stray Kids
  • Lay Back by VERIVERY
  • Really Really by WINNER

So far I've enjoyed some of BOYNEXTDOOR's and AHOF's songs, and 좋겠다 by ONE PACT (idk the English title sorry).

I made a similar post a few days (?) back but I was looking for enemies to lovers then. Now I am just looking for whatever trope that involves two students (college or high school, either is fine) going through their everyday lives and slowly falling in love.

Think the anime Skip and Loafer if it was two guys, something like that. I am mainly looking for contemporary, but 80s/90s is also fine.

I don't mind sex scenes (as long as it involves adults obviously) but I am not interested in books that are very sexual/have fwb situations/etc.
