Short SFN overview / resource (?)

Hello! As I am in this community, I have received and read so many helpful/relatable comments, I am so grateful for anyone who has responded!

I decided to create a short overview on SFN to summarize/organize at least some of the information mentioned on this sub and some websites (each article says something a little different e. g. causes, treatment, ...).

I hope this helps somebody!! I wish all of you best of luck!!

If you find something that should be checked or changed, please, tell me.

Can SFN mimick other issues?

Hi! I know I wrote a few weeks back, but I tried to look on the internet and nothing was there, so I am sorry if I am annoying.

In November I started having weird stretchy and deeply aching pain in my tendons on my left metacarpals due to repeated movements, I did not think much of it as it happened in a week where my body decided that I was too doing too much - awful intense pain in my joints which felt like my bones were drilling into each other, muscle fatigue (due to overtraining and lack of sleep) and other things. After a week or two I somewhat got better, however, the tendons stayed, except the pain moved to my left wrist. I thought it was tendonitis without any inflammation, as I was still overtraining. Pain meds never helped much, just a tiny bit. A month later, the pain spread to my left elbow, especially the elbow socket(?, the place where they take bloods, I don't know the English word), I thought that it was normal for "tendonitis" to spread. I tried to get a physiotherapist, but I could not at that time. In january, l the pain spread to my right thumb, later, around begining of february, it spread to my right wrist. In around april it spread to my right elbow. As of now, it is spreading into my shoulders, and it is jot located only on tendons — both the tendon and the muscle hurt the same way as the tendons, which is deep strechy ache, sometimes burning, something needles. The thing is that I have no idea what this could be, as when I went to the physiotherapy, a doctor said there is no structural injury, I can move both my hands completely fine, the pain gets worse after exercise, especially right after I finish the activity.

In a few days I am going to a neurologist, but I don't know how and what to call this. Could this be nerves related or should I find an orthopedic specialist as well?

SFN or other neuropathy?

Hi! I awaiting a neurologist appointment and trying to figure put what is going for myself just to find what might help (pain medication does nothing).

I began noticing my symptoms like 2 months ago, and as the weeks go by, it gets worse. I have hEDS and already experience joint aches.

I have patchy burning, stabbing, electric shock-like and intense pains in my peripheral nerves (range 7-8/10 pain). The pain is hard to locate as it travels through my body - once pinky finger on hand, then thigh and then elbow on the other hand for example. The pain is in 1 place from 1 minute to 10 minutes and then it goes either away or somewhere else. Sometimes my heels burn and feel like they are on fire for no reason at all. I also experince tingling and limbs falling asleep much more frequently. I also have noticed that my autonomic issues have gotten much much worse - I get lightheadedness and experience hypotension not only when I stand up but even what sitting down on random, my GI and bladder issues have worsened, my termoregulation and sweating got even more inconsistent with outside temperature. My limbs feel really weak, but it is just a feeling.

The issue is that I am experiencing abnormal sensations - I have started feeling very very intense discomfort from having limbs, they feel wrong and unnatural and not belonging. I have extreme discomfort from having nerves in my limbs, they feel wrongly rotated and anatomically misplaced as if something was scratching them on the inside or squishing them and it is unexplainably uncomfortable. I also feel like my bones are wrongly placed due to their innervation - my muscles push against my bones and my joints are being squished by cartilages and bones (probably hEDS feeling).

Is my experince similar to SFN or should I look somewhere else to find the source of my issues and pains?

From what I have read, then healthy lifestyle especially with enough sleep helps as well as ice x hot water, but I would like to learn more what I can do.

Hi!

I have an issues of getting attached and developing a FP relationship towards emotionally and socially unavailable people. Most of the times they are much older than me (when I was 15, my FP was my coach who is 30+ years older). My FPs are not romantic, but purely platonic and family-like (I had seen my coach as my father figure and as a stable safe person who I can trust and who will keep me safe). The people I connect to the most have gone through their own mental health struggles.

Now I find myself in a really bad situation as always (happened many times before) as I am developing a new "connection" ... I am a sophomore in highschool and the person who is my new FP is my biology teacher. She is really sweet, however, she is as expected unavailable AS SHE IS A DAMN TEACHER. How do I even go about this as all I think about now is her and her praise and all I do is try and study for her lessons so she notices me and looks at me and stuff. I feel like if she does not make me feel "special" I will cry and be unsafe to myself. (Which I know is really weird and selfish but I cannot help that feeling). I need her to adopt me and hug me and never let me go... HOW DO I DEAL WITH THIS. What should I do. I am desperate. I need to stop having my teachers as obsessions. Any advice please?
