81 Days Today. Furthest I’ve gone versus past attempts.
I keep track of the days by putting a little number at the bottom of my kitchen calendar every five days. But over the last couple months I have realized that the number doesn’t matter. I still don’t feel “safe” or “past it,” and there’s never going to be a magic number that means you’re in the clear once you hit that point.
I’m sober not just from weed, but alcohol, too. I can’t moderate my substances. There will never be a day where I can have “just a little bit,” because then it will be every day. That kinda sucks, but it’s okay. I had all mine already.
Unlike past attempts, though, I haven’t had any cravings or desires. It’s not the number that matters, it’s building routines, hobbies, activities that keep me wanting to stay clear-headed.
And NOT falling into the trap of “now that I’m sober I need to fix everything in my life.” That’s unsustainable for me. It only resulted in setbacks.
That’s all my thoughts 81 days in. I hope everyone is doing okay out there no matter where you’re at.
