Husband wants to make travel plans

I am 4 weeks post op along with endo excision. My recovery has been going pretty well, but there are days where I don't move fast or get tired easily. My digestive system is also not 100% yet.

My husband has been pushing to make travel plans for later in the year as we usually travel in the fall. I am hesitant to commit to plans because this recovery has been day to day and I don't want to "ruin" a trip. The Endo and adeno had ruined a bunch of past trips since symptoms would flare. He keeps reassuring me he doesn't want to push me, but I feel like he is in a way.

Today, he said he may plan a bunch of solo trips because he likes to travel and starts naming off places that I would like to go to because I won't commit. It's not like I don't want to, I just don't know how I'll be in October/November and December. Am I being an asshole here?

Dreams about estranged parent

I have been estranged from my biological father since 2023 after he cut me out of his life. Long story short, I tried to have an adult conversation with him about things that went on during my childhood (I'm a child of divorce), mostly psychological abuse from his second wife and his absences. He redirected responsibility from himself and put it upon my mom's shoulders. He's married for a 3rd time and it's his longest marriage, so he's pretty much written off myself and my two half brothers.

I did have surgery over two weeks ago for endometriosis, so my hormones are wacky. I had a dream about my father two nights ago where I tried to tell him about the pain I had felt for years and he just kept walking away, dismissing me. I woke up in tears. It's been over 3 years but I still have moments of missing what I thought we had. Luckily these don't happen as much, but it's crazy and scary when they creep up on you.

Did anyone else turn into a literal fart machine during recovery???

11dpo, and I cannot for the life of me stop farting! I can feel it coming and I pray to God it's a fart and not a shart 😂

The gas pain from the surgery has been gone for a while..it feels like my back end has changed into a literal trumpet. Hoping this is only temporary and not a permanent fixture!

7dpo- experience so far (surprise loose stools!)

7 days since my laproscopic hysterectomy with endometriosis excision.

The first 2-3 days post op were difficult mostly due to the gas pains in the shoulders and not being able to move too much. Had my first BM two days post op. Appetite was minimal until day 4-5. I've been hydrating like crazy and walking as much as I can. Keeping a simple diet of crackers, soup, frozen fruit bars, oatmeal, etc as I had intense GI issues prior to the surgery.

Yesterday, day 6, took a bit of a weird turn. I decided to deviate and eat a cup of skyr oat milk yogurt around lunchtime. A few hours later, I am feeling really intense pain in my lower abdomen where my uterus used to be. I thought maybe I pushed myself too much by walking around the book store and the grocery store. Nope. Turns out, I had 4-5 episodes of urgent diarrhea brewing. Like run to the toilet or else I'm having an accident. This felt worse than the BMs I had after surgery. I even got concerned I had the dreaded explosive diarrhea parasite..got to love the Google rabbit hole. I called the on call doctor to see if I should be worried. She said as long as I didn't have a fever or severe stomach pains or symptoms of dehydration, it was likely something I ate or my body's recovery from the surgery. I was hoping to start reintroducing some more foods into my diet today, but I guess it's back to a bland diet for 24 hours 🙄. Reminding myself recovery is not linear and to not get mad at my body.

Lap excision and hysterectomy done!!

I had my laproscopic hysterectomy with endo excision this morning. Started my day at 5:30am and did not come home until 3pm. Everything went well! I was informed by my family that the surgeon found A LOT of endometriosis!!!!! He told my family that I was right on the mark when it came to pinpointing pain as he found lesions wherever I had pain. My poor appendix was covered in lesions so that came out along with my uterus, fallopian tubes and cervix. Ovaries were thankfully not touched by the endo! I'll share more details when I'm more awake and coherent.

This community and the hysterectomy communicate have been so wonderful and supportive during my journey. Thank you for the good tips, thoughts and feedback!!!! Keep fighting for the diagnosis because you are more than likely correct!

The yeet is done!!!

7:30am laparoscopic hysterectomy with endometriosis excision complete! So far, the worst parts were taking the horse pills right before going into the OR (I was in a sitting position and I was gulping water like a fish) and some dry heaving/nausea after waking up. I didn't vomit thankfully but it was a close call. Thank God for Zofran! Right now, the worst pain is the burning in the vaginal area when I pee, sore throat and sore feeling where the uterus used to be. Luckily there is no more bowling ball in between my legs!

In the hospital for 9 hours and the surgeon found A LOT of endometriosis! He said my uterus was slightly enlarged but it was not touched by any endo, thank the Lord! My husband and mother said the surgeon was excellent and communicative. I'm definitely a one to person assist depending on the task. I''m exhausted so I'll try to share more details as the days progress.

Good luck to all you ladies and non binary friends going for this procedure! Trust yourself, trust your team and listen to your body. Much love!

Does anyone else "feel" their uterus bulging after eating?

I was diagnosed with adenomyosis back in February with suspected endo.

I feel like whenever I eat a meal, it feels like my uterus is bulging out and putting pressure in my lower abdomen. The sensation also comes when it feels like there is stool moving through my colon. I'm assuming it's digestion and my ball shaped uterus is making it more noticeable. I already have difficulty with normal bowel movements, which is rare and far in between. I feel full after a regular meal and like I have a bowling ball hanging in my groin.

Hysterectomy on the 20th. Really, really hoping digestion improves after!

Multiple bowel movements, all different

Has anyone had consecutive bowel movements, say in an hour-hour and a half, and they look different?

I go from having a fairly normal looking BM with little pain. Then I have a sharp cramp below my belly button and I go again. This time it looks skinnier and passes fairly easily, but I do have to put in some effort. Then about 10-15 minutes later, it feels like my entire lower abdomen is being pulled down and the urgency to have another bowel movement is strong and painful. I go again, and it is looser/slightly stinky. My pelvic floor then feels sore for a good hour.

I was diagnosed with adenomyosis via MRI, no endo found, but we know that song and dance. And I got the typical IBS diagnosis. 🙄 Got an excision and hysterectomy scheduled for July. If anyone else has had a similar issue, I'd love to hear your story and if surgery helped. I'm tired of my bowels being unpredictable and my uterus being angry all the time.

Bloating no matter what

Healthy diet, increase in fiber, low sugar intake, about a gallon of water a day, exercise, sitting quietly reading a book....and still look 3 months pregnant all the dang time.

Not to mention the flip flop between constipation and loose stools and pain after eating. Bowel movements are a chore and hurt like hell. Peeing all the dang time.

Can't wait to get my hysterectomy and excision next month! Hopefully I'll look and feel normal and not a permanent pregnant looking lady 😂

Chronic pain with digestion/BMs

I was diagnosed with adenomyosis back in February via MRI. The endo specialist I am working with is 100% certain I also have endo despite nothing showing up on MRI. I have been on continuous birth control since 2022 as my periods made me feel sick and doubled over in pain. My GI was always a mess right before, during and even after my period was done. I got the "IBS" diagnosis until I worked with a dietitian who recommended a colonoscopy (my family has a history of colon cancer). Colonoscopy done in 2021 and only showed mild inflammation, likely from the prep. The prep is awful.

I switched birth control back in 2025 as my pelvic pain was getting worse and my GYN prescribed Loryna. The breakthrough bleeding, nausea and unpredictable bowel habits were my breaking point.

Now I deal with chronic pain almost daily when it comes to digestion, the signal of a BM coming and the process of having a BM. I have done the Low Fodmap diet and know lactose and GOS are my main triggers. I eat pretty healthy, get as much fiber as I can, drink 8-10 glasses of water a day and do mindful exercise (yoga and walking, walking pad if the weather sucks). No matter what, my angry uterus and whatever endo is hiding makes it so hard to go to the bathroom like a normal person. I asked my husband if it was normal to feel pain before, during and after pooping. He looked at me with a concerned expression and said no. Women are forced to endure pain because "painful periods" are just part of the gig of being a woman. I haven't had a regular period in 4 years and I'm still getting period pains, including the digestive crap. I can literally feel my uterus, whom I've named Belinda, sitting right on my rectum or pushing on other organs in the pelvic floor. Not to mention the fluctuating constipation and loose stools that make me question if I'm gonna go a little or go a lot despite the healthy diet and hydration. Belinda has really made it difficult to live normally. Intimacy, non existent. Travel, limited. Work, smiling through the pain. Only time I'm not in pain is when I'm asleep.

Hysterectomy and excision scheduled for July 20th. My husband and I don't want children and we have made peace with it. Can't freaking wait!
