Pure S&S the whole way through (and good stuff, too!)

Gotta admit, I really enjoyed the whole Scourge series and extras!

The full Scourge of the Serpent reading order can be found here.

A few highlights - while keeping things as spoiler free as possible:

Fang & Spear in Savage Sword of Conan #10. This brilliant short story from Jim Zub sent me straight down the rabbit hole and finally pushed me to read Spear and Fang - REH’s very first published story.

That then led me to Jeff Shank's excellent video on Spear & Fang, which in turn introduced me to The Son of the Red God (and other tales) by Paul Anderson. You can really see how much it may have influenced a young REH - especially with En-ro, an early hero who “wakes instantly like an animal” and feels the “red rage” take hold when trapped in impossible situations.

CtB #21-24 - I loved the atmosphere, the characters, and especially Fernando Dagnino’s artwork throughout. That shattered jaw panel was absolutely brutal. The Thoth Amon art is quite incredible, too.

The Solomon Kane mini-series - fantastic from beginning to end. Pat Zircher’s artwork is incredible here. Personally, I think he’s producing some of the strongest comic art around right now. His black-and-white work in Savage Sword was stunning as well.

And then there’s Scourge of the Serpent itself - drawing from The God in the Bowl, The Shadow Kingdom, and The Haunter of the Ring, it was always going to be something special.

I also put together a spoiler-light review of the full Scourge of the Serpent storyline here.

And if you’ve still got the whole saga ahead of you... you’re in for a good time.

Hi all, I have a new client and a situation I've not come across before. I'll be planning their content strategy from scratch so I do have a say in how it will be done.

The client is active in both the German and French markets. They are quite sure they want two websites, same name and ending in .de and .fr respectively. They insist that locals trust the endings a lot more than .com. I live in Germany and agree – Germans vastly prefer a .de, especially in B2B.

But I'm worried that two websites is just far more work and will not grow their authority as well or as quickly as it should. Their in-house budget for content creation isn't huge and I think they should just focus on one site (probably a .com) with hreflangs at the end.

A lot of the site structures would be the same for both countries, though pages on both would be localised and target different keywords etc.

I'm not quite sure how to push forward with this and would appreciate any input. Thanks!

Obviously that's a tongue-in-cheek title, but this was a great series/event.

The whole Scourge of the Serpent reading order is here.

Some highlights while trying to stay spoiler free:

Fang & Spear in Savage Sword of Conan #10. This great short story from u/Jim_Zub sent me down a rabbit hole and got me to finally read REH's first ever published story, Spear & Fang.

From there I watched u/Theagenes1 excellent Spear & Fang video which in turn got me to read The Son of the Red God (and other tales) by Paul Anderson – a series which clearly influenced a young REH and features En-ro, an early protagonist who 'wakes instantly like an animal' and feels the 'red rage' come over him when in a hopeless situation.

CtB 21-24 – I really enjoyed the story, characters, and the particularly amazing art work from Fernando Dagnino. That broken jaw panel is just great/awful.

The Solomon Kane mini series – great from start to finish. Pat Zircher's art is some of the best in the field at the moment, in my humble opinion. And his black and white art in Savage Sword was even more beautiful!

The Scourge of the Serpent itself – based on The God in the Bowl, The Shadow Kingdom and the Haunter of the Ring, you know you're in for a treat.

A full review of the Scourge of the Serpent series is here and I've done my best to keep it spoiler free.

If you've still got it ahead of you...enjoy!
