my tree's living room

the form is intentional. i don't really want more branching, & i definitely don't want to propagate it. it's tied to the wall. that's a 16.5 inch pot. the soil is mostly organic, very chunky. nice window situation, nice humidity. it grew upwards & hit the ceiling long ago. before long, it may traverse the room. i counted roughly 142 leaves. had for 5 years. started small, 1 gal pot.

doing good

i think it's nice like this, so leafy. sometimes i don't water it or fertilize quite attentively enough & the leaves don't grow as huge. i try. growing actively & hasn't shed a leaf in maybe two years. must love it, here 🤷

now growing 9 more leaves, presently. it now waters kind of like a bonsai. the pot looks small, but that's a huge pot, 17" i think. also, the ceiling is 11 feet or so.

it keeps pushing down & out as it touches the ceiling. after these leaves grow out, i'll top it & pull it back to the ceiling with another hook & line 🤷

as seen in pic #3, growing some nice adventitous roots. developing some exposed root action... considering guiding more of them downward by some means 🤔. going to throw away the elephant.
