Back of the leaf is red?
any ideas what would cause this? I hope it's not some severe thrips damaged that only exists at the topmost leaf

Came across this tree in Portia Banús, Spain. Half the tree is variegated.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. This was rescued from an office and brought home, instead of being put on the curb.
It's in a spot that gets indirect sunlight, is not breezy, and is fairly warm, although the temperature fluctuates between 60ish at night to low-to-mid 70s during the day.
I've been watering it about once every two weeks, or whenever the soil feels dry, about two inches deep.
There are some new leaves on it, but it is also dropping leaves fairly consistently.
Hi Im struggling with my first ficus. I got it like this from the nursery but the stem looks like it is shriveling. Its a very light soil and it drains well, I also used a terracotta pot. Is it shriveled because it is severely dehydrated or is it a sign that it doesn't want water? The soil has dried up so im not sure what to do. Any help would be welcome.
I’ve had this for nearly a year, and it has not produced any new leafs. The new leaf spikes seems to have stopped. They’re kind of hard, almost like spikes.
What can I do to get it going?
I trimmed my Elastica about 2 months back. And the new grown has had this super cool look i wanted to share! Fingers Crossed she keeps doing it! (Final photo is a pre chop leaf for comparison)
Has anyone had any success with this method?
I don't necessarily mind any visual damage/kinking where the string is attached, I plan to take a cutting from that area of the stem.
When I moved to Florida last year, she was 2 feet tall. She’s outside by the porch, in the shade and this is how much she’s grown in the Florida humidity.
I've had this tree for years and it's been thriving in my new apartment for the past year. I think it's time to prune her so she branches more since she's starting to give slender man a bit these days. Do y'all think I should prune now? If yes, where should I cut? It's unfortunate that the top leaves are all the prettiest and the biggest since those would be the ones to get cut off, but I'm hoping new growth will make up for it.
Hi! I’m looking for help diagnosing brown spots on my Ficus Tineke.
I’ve had it for about 4 weeks. It was watered every 2 days at first (as recommended by the store), but I later realized the soil was still wet between waterings. Since then I switched to watering only when the soil dries much more. It has now been over 1.5 weeks since the last watering, and the soil is still not completely dry (although we’ve had an unusually cold week).
The plant is in a nursery pot with drainage holes inside a decorative pot. It gets bright indirect light near a window.
Some leaves had some damage when I bought it. Since then, the damaged leaves have continued to drop, roughly one every 2–3 days (2 more fell today), but I no healthy leaves are dropping. I can’t tell if all the dropped leaves were originally damaged, or if damage is progressing to new leaves. One new leaf unfurled about 2 weeks ago, but there hasn’t been any new growth since.
I checked the root ball: no foul smell, roots look firm (not mushy), and I only found a tiny dense white patch on the outside of the soil, which looked more like mold than roots.
I’ve been reading about anthracnose, and some photos look similar to my leaf spots. Do these symptoms look more consistent with:
Any help would be appreciated!
What have you had success using for propagation? My plant was leaning so I chopped it, the segments are alive but nothing is happening in water. I know it takes a while but geez. I do change the water regularly, I have not used any products. They are under a grow light, but further down on the shelf so light is indirect.
This is showing massive promise and success in having been topped and notched. Confirmed without a doubt, four new branches emerging from a now~1ft tall Ficus Tineke!
Second photo is a potential fifth one making grounds on the lowest active leaf node with a torn leaf.
Third photo of its position in my south facing window.
Wondering if I should/could do anything to control the angle/direction at which these new branches’ll grow.
Would love some opinions, tips, or suggestions!
Hi,
I don't know anything about pruning. This ficus has been struggling along for a year or two now. I thought mabye pruning it is a good idea. I am looking for some advice how to go about it. Thank you!
Recently I pulled out a dry leaf unfurled all the way at the top and the growth completely stalled because of it? What do I do now?
Just got my first ficus Audrey and I’m very excited. I’ve had it for three days now and it’s done great through a repotting (it was really root-bound) and all-natural pesticide treatment.
It’s next to an east-facing window with a grow light on it and a reptile heat lamp on it. 50% humidity. 75 degrees F (24C). Soil is half orchid half normal potting soil.
Any advice for maximum growth??
I have had this Ginseng Ficus for about a month and have not had any trouble with it, but I have started to notice orange spots on some of the leaves and odd leaves starting to show up. What is going on?
I have this ficus and separated from the mother plant a year ago. It has being growing in a north window. I have noticed that one leaf didn't develop correctly and gor this spots. I first thought it was mites but after rubbing they don't come out. Is this a type of fungus? Or just sun burn? Any tips?
Love that my Fiscus Bonsai is growing new leaves but, now see that an unidentified intruder might be knawing at this new growth! Not good!
Please advise if you can identify the likely pest and best route to go to eradicate from my bonsai.
Really do appreciate any help and suggestions!
