11th Edition Launch Box Deathwatch Conversion?

11th Edition Launch Box Deathwatch Conversion?

I have the Marines in the 11th Edition launch box but want to convert them to Deathwatch, how much pain am I in for?

How would you do it for these models?

I am also very okay with making them look like Deathwatch but still running them as other vanilla space marine factions.

Travel painting essentials

I am going on the Battle Barge Wargamer Cruise this September to work the event, they have painting stuff there but I would like to bring some of my own stuff to chip away at my horde of 40k Orks.

I generally have a color scheme for their armor but mix it up alot for their junkyard-chic aesthetic but wanted to know what's some reliable kit you would take on a trip?

The cruises are stable, not worried about swaying or anything like that since I've done their painting workshops with ImpendingDuff (The minipainting instructor) but I have a tendency to overpack and I am strapped on space for this trip.

So far I have

  • Citadel paint water cup (it was a gift)
  • 6 brush set (mostly pointy ones of varying sizes, no rounds or flats.)
  • triads of green, brown, red then some blue, yellow, black, white. Mostly Army painter but side note if anyone sees this the paint seems so shiny? I shake it for a while too or so I thought.
  • Gunmetal, nuln oil, warpainter shades
  • Small army painter mat
  • Small wooden tray that can be disassembled to flat pack
  • Silly putty for masking though I suck with this still
  • Cork with paper clip handles for models
  • 10x grots + Runtherd on the handles already (not sure if I should be ambitious to clear these then drill and affix more models to the cork/paperclip handles.
  • Small non-wet palette though I am considering building or buying a small travel sized palette from game-envy
  • Paper towels and water are on the ship in their bathrooms and the crew leave actual paper towel rolls in the conference center for free use as well.

I should have between 3-5 hours a day to paint in the conference center outside of getting at least some KT games in but would otherwise be helping at the 40k Doubles for the narrative campaign that runs through the 5 day cruise.

Anything else? If you're a minipainting instructor and want to go on this event you should check it out and send your info through the contact form too just incase anyone reading this has that cross their mind.

Kill Team on Vacation

If youre in the NJ/NY area (or want to fly in) and want to play some KT but also in a more chill narrative format with vacation (all you can eat, take some breaks visiting ports, etc.) there is the Battle Barge Cruise happening at the end of September 26 - Oct 1

Was talking with the Kill Team lead volunteer and we may try to get in some Ctesiphus Expedition campaign play.

Well and as much painting and playing as we can in general.

I can answer some questions if anyone has any, really just want to boost the number of KTers as my personal goal, I like the game and dont get enough opportunity to play outside of this (my local group like AOS over 40k stuff T_T)

You can check out the prices at the link below, its not hidden behind any signups or anything

I think 2027 isn't booked yet but is probably going back to Florida either Orlando/Port Canaveral area or Miami.

Nemesis Units - The urges

So uh, how many of ya'll are going to end up collecting one off pieces now for Nemesis units?

I already caught myself in the store looking at models not related to my kill team or 40k collections thinking "Oh I should get this for Nemesis", "This would be sick as a boss enemy", etc.

Now I have an excuse for collecting things outside of my armies or KT's to use these one off pieces for Kill Team nemesis or Wrath & Glory/Imperium Maledictum TTRPGs as well at least.

If they really wanted to make KT the gateway into big 40k the combat patrol boxes should end up having nemesis rules and get setup to work as missions for KT.

The potential now is delightfully broad into 40k, here is the damage in USD if you go all in.

  • Achilles Ridgerunner - $60.00
  • Adeptus Mechanicus Ironstrider Ballistarius - $65.00
  • Ambull - $48.00
