Chiari malformation 1 being ignored

Im 35 year old female, 5'1, a little overweight but on a weight loss journey that's really going great.

Diagnosed with hashimotos thyroiditis, hyper mobility, chronic migraines, Idiopathic intracranial hypertension, chiari malformation 1, FND.

Currently on medication for all of the above bar hypermobility. I am also in the UK

My current issue is that my neurologist is adamant that none of my symptoms are related to chiari and its all just coincidental. Id like a second opinion but the only other neurologist is on personal leave and has been the last year. If I need to travel to actually be treated im happy to do so but im just looking for some other opinions as its alot of money.

The backstory is that ever since I can remember ive had weird issues with my neck and head. Things I can remember are:

Can't move my head into certain positions without immediate nauseating pain.

Having anything such as pillows, tops of seats etc. Pressed into the lower part of my head also creates an instant nauseating headache.

Clicking neck and feeling cracks and bubbles.

It has always felt unstable but thought I was being dramatic.

Had migraines since I was a young child.

Sudden weakness in various limbs

Tingling in face and limbs

Bladder incontinence on and off (also had my bowel do this for a month with no explanation)

Trigeminal neuralgia on and off my whole life

Ear whooshing

Dizziness

Gushes of clear fluid from my nose

Vision disturbances

I had a horrific recovery after an epidural that felt like my spine and brain were being electrocuted and crushed on a vice. Literally couldn't move

I was diagnosed with idiopathic intracranial hypertension a year and a half ago out of nowhere. They said it was my weight however id been at rhe exact same weight for years and I have since lost a lot of weight and its feeling worse than ever. I was told the medication is managing it well at my last ct scan however I feel no better. Headache, pressure, vision problems, head rushing, ear whooshing, cant change positions without extreme dizziness and head pain. In February I woke from a nap with my entire right side numb, weak and floppy. After confirming it wasn't a stroke they said it was hemiplegic migraine (which i have had in the past). Im still numb, weak, severe pins and needles and pain. I now use a walking stick to get about or else I cant really go longer pwriods of walking outside due to pain and weakness.

I have had several "episodes" as I call them where ive loat consciousness and gone stiff as a board, wet myself, been non responsive. Come round ans felt groggy, super sore on my body and very weak and dizzy. Almost like im drunk. The neurologist ruled out epilepsy with a test but insists these are seizures and tried to give me anti seizure medication which I wont take. He said these are related to FND. Apparently my brain is so overloaded with issues it's having a little moment.

They discovered the chiari during an MRI when I was going through testing and treatment for the IIH. They have said that everything im experiencing is either migraines or fnd. The chiari was a coincidental finding and has no bearing on any of it. Im frustrated as my entire life has changed. I can no longer work as a seamstress as I cant see. I rely on my family to help care for me. I require aids and supports around my home. My life has been severely impacted by it l but they refuse to look into it more.

Is this worth paying privately? Travelling? Pushing against the system for more testing? Its going ti be an exhausting, stressful and long process if I do any of these. I have no idea if it's the right course.of action. Id love any input and advise and it would be gratefully received

When do you give it up as a lost cause?

Me(35) and my boyfriend (36), have been together for just over 2 years. The first few times we had sex was amazing. Everything ticked all my boxes. He said he felt the same way.

I have a really high libido. Ive since discovered hes is really really low. He says its self control but I doubt that entirely. I once tried to initiate and he just said he was tired. Fair enough so we cuddle before bed and then he initiated but was soft but still kept trying to put it on when I told him it was fine and not to worry. But he was adamant.

Now the sex is so very few and far between and its not ticking any of my boxes. Its like everything he did at first has been forgotten. I have communicated time and again what I like, what we could do next, etc. But its exactly the same the next time. Ive even spoke to him about it in the moment about what would feel better etc.but nothing.

I ended up feeling like an absolute sex pest so I stopped initiating and asking. We went on holiday and he asked for a BJ and I thought it was going to be a great session but he came and that was the end of it.

It was our anniversary recently and we went away for the weekend and I was hoping but not too much. We had sex and it was yet again the same thing. I asked if we could try a different position but it was like he couldn't even hear me. Rubbed my clit like he was trying to peel a sticker off a fridge so I ended up sore even though I told him it was hurting and not in a good way.

I love him and hes a great guy but I really dont think anything is going to change in the bedroom. But I keep hoping with talking etc maybe it will change. So when do you give up and walk away? I feel petty about thinking of splitting up with him over sex but im snappy and ratty when im sexually frustrated and im constantly in that state atm.

Would someone having a disability put you off dating them?

Ive become disabled this past year unexpectedly. Things went wrong in my brain and I now rely on a walking stick or mobility scooter to get about among other things.

Im not currently in a relationship or dating but I did get to wondering about when or if I wanted to dip into dating again how it would go.

For some reason its really knocked me even though im focusing on my health right now and not looking at dating.

Would people look at me differently now? Would a guy not want to take me out if I came along with my walking stick. Would I be passed over for being defective.

Im still just a girl that enjoys life and wants to wear pretty dresses sometimes 😂 but I also understand that dating someone with health issues isnt easy either. It can be an emotional roller coaster.

Would a disabled sign on front door make me a potential target for burglary?

Im chronically ill which has caused me several disabilities. I now cant answer the door as fast as I used to which has caused parcels to be handed to neighbours before I manage to open the door. I thought of putting a little sticker on my door to say I may take a little longer to answer due to disabilities but then I wondered if this was a good idea in regards to safety. Would it potentially alert criminals to a vulnerable person being home alone? I feel like i may be overthinking it.

I live in a good area with relatively low crime and my neighbours are always watching out for eachother but im still a little concerned as a single mum woth kids in the house
