Is this my first L&D call or not?

I am not sure if I have gotten the term correct, but I have been for about 2 hours with this woman who checked in because she was feeling contractions and it's been monitored, and she is dilating (1 cm in an hour) and long hold periods. And they have told her they will check every hour. And it does not seem they intend to dismiss me anytime soon.

But I don't know yet. Does it count? It's so exciting, though, even if she doesn't go into labor with me on the phone, she will later give birth, it would still be exciting to have been involved before a new life is born.😭

And some advice, I am still here, and I haven't been on a call for this long, especially, just about to end my shift and be hungry for my lunch. I have just been getting up and doing some movement in the meantime. But any further advice?

If I am going to be here once she is until actual delivery or labor. I DONT EVEN KNOW THE DIFFERENCE HELP. I mean, once she gives birth, am I dismissed then or sfter that???

Help please, I am a 2 month old baby terp.😪

The nurse said to LEP "Hold on to this little interpreter" and I went on pick me mode.😭

LEP was just checking in, and he told her, "Hold on to this little interpreter here. The nurses prefer that." I was all invested in the role that I just went. "This is in the interpreter, did you say I am a little interpreter" he was like "yeah, that's what I said" and after interpreting that did I snap back on what had just happened. HELP, THAT CAN BE SO TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT

How does the algorithm work for Propio? Is it built based on both sides? (Client and Terp)

I have always been curious. I feel like there are some filters on who the algorithm prioritizes, either for interpreters that work directly to be the first ones on the queue or important clients that are sent to top-tier/experienced terps or something. Clients being connected to terps they gave good reviews to, or rude clients that are less likely to have long calls sent to terps less likely to "have power outages", and such. Or is it way more complex than that?

I've been here for about three months and the closest to an "algorithm" thing I have noticed. It has been getting the same client ID/providers a few times. And the type of calls I have I have never received, so far, like L&D, immigration, and there might be more I have no idea yet.

But, do you know or have a theory of how this works? I think it would be interesting to share our thoughts!

Imagine calling United Healthcare to check your card balance and being held on the phone for over an hour.😭

I got a call that still ongoing, a nice old man called to check his card balance, but the rep said they were going to let them know, after making some questions and extra rewards, and for some reason, she just transferred us twice to some departments to activate his card after adding rewards. She just put us on hold once again to schedule a visit after she asked and said there were rewards. I know they make money in the end, but the situation still makes me laugh.

I am just laughing each time this happens. Do they get bonuses for making these people accept as many things as they can? I am happy for my paid doomscrolling anyway.

Propio's QA Feedback?

I asked this a while ago, but I did not know something important yet.

How does QA give you feedback, or how do you know how your performance is going when working under a third-party agency for Propio?

I have been working for what now are 7 weeks, hundreds of calls, and I haven't noticed changes in my billable minutes so far, and no emails from Propio nor my agency about any feedback or notice on my performance. Should I worry? I am still learning how this company works. Sorry if it's a silly question.🥲

An LEP with American accent?

I got a CS call where the LEP had the most american accent ever! I am suspicious this is a native English speaking person that for some reason wants to speaks spanish?

It's just, like why would they do that? That is the same accent, grammar and pronunciation an English speaking rep when they speak a little of spanish.

Or is this some sort of new hispanic accent that sounds american?

WHERE ARE THE JUICY LONG VISITS?

Anyone else having a lot of dial outs/short CS calls instead of the juicy visits/interviews after 1 EST?

I have been like this for about two weeks, and it's personally draining, since for some reason, my call flow gets really low after too many short calls and clients hanging up as soon as they hear the voice mail (as if it was my fault)

I used to get quite a lot of juicy therapy, long visits, SNAP interviews, etc.

Is it just me or the season?

"What's your sexual orientation? Straight (...)? -'Normal' ".🤣

I'm not trying to start a debate. It just made me laugh (I am sure she didn't know what straight means) and wanted to share it.

Why do agencies wait 15 days to pay the previous month?

I thought they paid on the 15th to pay the previous 30 days of work. (Propio). But they pay all one makes from the 1 to the 30/31st of the previous month ON the 15th of the next month.

And does someone know why? Propio pays twice a month, so why pay the way they do? Are there any procedures or negotiations in between that justify this?

I'm just curious as to why that seems to be almost a general rule on most of the agencies that connect you with Propio, language line, and such.

How do you deal with LEPs that do not understand anything?

My first call of this day was an LEP with a billing inquiry. But each time the Rep explained the reason for the problem, the LEP just said the problem once again, in the same case when the rep offered a solution.

After this happened three times, I informed the Rep. And we were both lucky that there were Spanish speaking reps clocking in to work in a few minutes. (Pass the problem to someone else because the LEP was not understanding anyway).

But I would like to have an idea on how to be prepared in case I don't have that getaway. Do I just inform the rep and let them decide? What if they just try something that involves us staying?

I know the more we stay in a call, the better. But I just think that a call where we are back and forth for 30 minutes is just as a burnout as having 5 dial outs of 5 minutes in a row.

How is the queue on Saturday/Sunday morning for Propio?

I am thinking about logging in a few hours in the morning (starting from 8 a.m EDT). But I am not sure if it would be worth it, talking about the type of calls and if there are waiting times.

Keep I am mind that my account was created under a third-party agency, and I already have waiting times of about an hour for each 6 on my busiest days.

A call mislabeled as 911?

I just had a call that was labeled in the greeting as a 911 call.

And everything seems to be about migration law advice. Not even about an emergency.

Has this happened to you?

What is considered "camping"?

I'm still new here. I am with Propio, but I have heard this term from many interpreters from different platforms saying this and how they got called out by QA for doing it.

But I am unfamiliar with what they may mean. Some help?

Do clients ragebait saying we're cutting off?

Has this happened to anyone when they just go "please repeat, you're cutting off?"" Then, after the call, I immediately ran an audio test, and it's "cristal clear."

Are these really random problems due to their connection or something. Or are they just trying not to recognize they did not pay attention/understand? Because in the same calls, LEPs understand me without a problem.

Idk, I kinda do the same to them when I don't understand what they said. Maybe it's karma.🤥

What are the standard waiting times for you in Propio?

I am still new to how Propio works. And I am wondering how waiting times are for you if you are getting waiting times at all.

How much waiting time do you get for each connected hour? When do you get more or less waiting time between calls throughout the day and week?

I have been noticing that in my most busiest days, I have received like 3 to 6 minutes per hour. Usually, I get about 15 to 25 minutes per hour. Is that normal?

Is there anything you guys can do in case you're getting a lot of waiting time with Propio IT or something?

Quiero comprar uno de 8000BTU para mi cuarto, prenderlo una 7 horas al día. Pero no estoy seguro de cuanto me elevaria la factura. ¿Alguien que me pueda dar una idea?

Me saying the closing with an upbeat tone, after the client told me it was going to be a SNAP interview, and the LEP decided they were going to be in a more important call at that moment:

It's been a bad day so far, and this has happened to me twice. This week has been the worse.😭
