How I Got Unbanned From Hinge in Less Than 12 Hours
My account got removed about 5 months ago.
I submitted the appeal immediately through the app, but because I was naive and thought they would realize it was a false ban and a human would just overturn it, I didn't write almost anything in the appeal form as to my reasoning for the appeal.
5 months go by and nothing, I sort of just gave up on hearing from them.
After reading a few others here try to contact them, I just emailed hello@hinge.co directly.
I wrote out that I had mistakenly left the appeal form pretty empty and then said I respect their strict policies to keep the community safe and that I do not believe I did anything to subvert that.
I will say that I have two theories about why I was banned and they really aren't serious. One is an obvious AI photo I used that looks like I was taking a selfie with a celeb at a fancy event and the other is that I have a pretty good line that got me a lot of matches that I would regularly copy+paste. Nothing extreme, harassing, harmful, sexually explicit, violent, or anything of the sort.
They didn't ask me for any additional info, ID, photo, or anything. They just re-authorized my account in the first email I heard back from them about 12 hours later.
If you *truly* didn't do anything crazy or harmful, I suggest emailing them, explaining the situation, and hoping for the best.
Good luck!
