Just re-reading The Crab with the Golden Claws; at the beginning of the story, Tintin bumps into the Thompsons, and they have three pints. At a cost of 45p 😳
The story text is from 1958, and a pound then was worth £30 now, so the cost of a pint was roughly £4.50 in today’s money, which I think is not far off current prices in the UK.
But 45p for three pints did sound too good to be true 😂
