A confession

Hi, Community of strong people. This subreddit had been there with me 4 years back while I dealt with a very difficult time with alcohol.
I kept slipping but came back stronger and now, I have recently completed 3 years of sobriety from Alcohol and I wanted to thank each and every one of you for your support. Like me, many of you wont see the regular thank yous being posted here because of our busy livestyles and/or our lost reddit accounts.

But i mean it. Thank you very much to everyone who kept me in check and told me to never stop trying.

Why I am posting today is that I am dealing with a new dilemma. I had always used Weed as a substance to fall back on for comfort / or 'something to take the edge off' .

After a year long break, i started using weed again. I hate smoking it so i try and make edibles whenver I can. I only use it mostly after work before sleeping. Apart from a ravenous apetite, I dont believe it hampers my lifestyle anyway, although it makes me paranoid and I can surely learn how to use that time to create or be more productive.

I am concerned for a few reasons-

  1. I wanted to know if it is as bad as alcohol problem. I mean i am at home rn and I do not have the craving and i sleep just fine although I am lookign forward to getting high soon.

  2. Does that mean I am not sober anymore and has it hindered my alcohol journey? I wont lie i still have cravings for alcohol but conciusly avoid it and religiously stay away from alcohol. Its a daily battle for me.

  3. It took me a long time to realise i have an alcohol problem and even longer to do anything about it. I am just wondering if I have a weed problem as well. and If i should do anything about it.

Sorry for the long query and typos. I am typing on my android on my way to the airport. Flying back to new delhi tonight.
Thank you all for any and all advice. Be nice to your neighbours. God Bless.
