I built WeatherPets so your pets reports the weather in a fun customized experience

Hello :)

Answer
It started as a fun idea for our family dog Jeter that grew into something bigger. WeatherPets is a premium iOS weather app built to appreciate your pet to the fullest in the one tool you already check every single day.
Instead of boring weather apps you see your own pet in custom scenes that match the real weather outside right now. Their personality shows in how they deliver the forecast. We also generate an animated pixel version of them. It turns a quick weather check into a small daily moment that actually makes you smile through the seasons.

Better
This is a highly customized premium experience. No other app out there works this way. We put real care into making sure the imagery looks and feels like your pet. We keep retrying on the generations until it feels right.
Using AI can be controversial sometimes but with pets it can be fun and entertaining when implemented correctly. So far the response has been very positive.

Cost
$7.99 / per month
$59.99 / per year (we plan to raise the yearly price in the near future)

Why the subscription
High quality personalized pet imagery and pixel work takes real resources. We do not cut corners because your pet deserves to look and feel like them. The subscription lets us keep that quality high, add new styles packs regularly, and build toward a Freemium version focused on your own imagery. Right now it helps us deliver more of those small daily smiles and keep improving the experience for everyone using the full app.

This is a pretty new and unique app so honest feedback from pet owners and iOS users means a lot! Would seeing your own pet report the weather in a premium customized way become something you actually look forward to each day?

Thanks for reading. Give your pets a good pat from me.

Edit: Thanks everyone for the kind words and honest feedback!

We are looking at a couple changes based on what you have said.

More affordable limited subscription plans that still give full access to the core app for lighter users.

And a freemium version. The free tier would let you use your own pet photos and basic features like widgets, but with no AI features at all.

The goal is to make the core fun experience accessible to more people while keeping the high quality custom AI stuff sustainable. Appreciate you all taking the time. This kind of feedback has genuinely given me hope for the project!

Claude+Remotion+PostSyncer and more to endlessly create, test, and post creative content for social directly marketing my apps

Thought it might be interesting if I shared this process with others. Maybe you will build your own.

I created an internal tool to help me test endless creative videos and slideshows on the apps I manage.

The only major cost with this is PostSyncer and Grok for creative text testing.

What I do -

  1. Collect a bunch of music, video, imagery, app snapshots and branding assets. Basically bucket them into what type of assets they are and what they are used for. Mostly use generic stock assets if it does not relate to my app just to have a background.
  2. Set app context and branding assets to make sure the project templates are clear on what my app and message is about. What value it gives, what it does, how it helps, taglines and more.
  3. With that I just create new template ideas using Claude and Remotion to make new creative ideas, could be a video, a slideshow or whatever I think of or see that is going viral. With remotion I can make amazing repeatable animations, plugin branding and assets that I want.
  4. Use Grok for creating the post captions, content, titles, CTA, hooks. I can test different styles and ideas easily. Batch a bunch of variations based on the approach I am going for.
  5. Batch generate the videos and render for that template idea and post at a specific time everyday.

This has helped me get 5-6 videos or slides out everyday for both my apps on all socials with ease and lets me compare and test creatives fast to find what works.

If I have a new idea I just curate a new template for that project. Each app has completely different templates because they are different markets and brands.

Thought I would share. Not something that is public. It is more of something I needed, so I built it for the problems that I needed solved.

Never touched UI design or thought it through, I run it locally. I just grow it by adding what I need as I realize I need it so it is messy but works perfectly for my process.

The goal here is not to be stuck with some subscription tool that doesn't customize the way I want or even keep up with ever changing content styles. Now I have my own content creator with full flexibility.

Edit: I apologize for the bad quality video, too late now

How are you doing affiliate marketing when there is no way to track by offer code name?

I have created a personal CRM tool where I am reaching out to creators successfully and getting a lot of interest but realized the only way to track conversions is either through a direct link cookies or attribution in app.

My app gets the best reach with UGC pet owners and I want to make sure my affiliates get credit for their leads but is there no way to track by an offer code name?

Seems unreasonable that Apple does not simply tie the name of the offer code to the subscription in any way. Or is this just a common problem?

Curious how everyone is doing this and what is the standard that I should be going for?

Any help is appreciated!

Edit: Not looking for a service please don't recommend any, I plan on building this out myself but want to know what direction is the standard.
