Hypothetical question I thought about recently. Had 9/11 never occurred, do you think the WTC would still be the tallest towers in the US? Or if they were never destroyed, do you think there would be competition within the whole country, or even just New York, to take the title of tallest building in the US?

Secondary question, the towers are kind of idolized these days due to what happened, but if they never fell. What would you think of them. I've shown friends other buildings designed by Minoru Yamasaki, and some friends hated some of his work. I love it, so I feel like I'd still find the towers beautiful if they were still here. But what do you think? Would the general consensus of the country be that they're a bit boring? Too brutalist? Maybe even an eye sore?
