To the people who parked in the Joseph Brant Hospital lot on Canada Day to catch the fire works, SHAME ON YOU.

I was trying to visit a sick family member and could not find parking because many families were happily parking in the hospital lot to make it to the fireworks. Watching people laughing and giggling that they found “a spot” was infuriating as I did circles around the lot myself.

Seriously shame on you. It should be a basic principle to not abuse that parking lot for your recreational plans when people are going to see sick and dying loved ones.

My new home requires a commute past a pig slaughterhouse, while it’s horribly upsetting to see the pigs and trucks go in, I have found a silver lining.

I’ve lost track of how many trucks I’ve seen carrying beautiful, intelligent, sentient creatures into the horrific slaughterhouse in my city, but I’ve tried to focus on one main thing…

The protesters.

I see like-minded people a few times a month standing outside with signs and pictures trying to convince others to make the same choice we have.

I now see it as my calling to honk my horn, throw up a peace symbol and scream words of encouragement out my car window as I drive-by. I hope my excitement and cheering brings further energy and strength to their efforts!

It has really helped me adjust my mindset around unfortunately having to see something very upsetting on a regular basis.

Just thought I’d share to people that would understand and maybe others have similar experiences.
