Today my dentist lasered some of my gum off to prepare me for a filling next week and asked me to apply gel to it if I feel discomfort or to protect it in general! (?)

This is what the front desk gave me. I took a bit and applied it to my gums but googled the product while doing so and ended up wiping it off because it doesn't really seem like something that should be applied to gums?

Please lemme know if I'm just completely wrong and overthinking it 😭 or if I'm gonna get die like Google told me so /s

Messaged the dental clinic but it's 2 am so trying my luck here
