Im moving to Tacoma and going to be working hybrid in Seattle (pike, hybrid fter 2 months). It'll be me and my 2 kiddos until my husband joins us after his own transfer goes through..
Any other moms in the same boat that live in Tacoma and commute to seattle? How tf do you make childcare work if youre not able to spend $3k/month and cannot have him in care for more than 10hrs?
No we dont have family here in the state. I tried hard to get my sister to come up to help but she has her own crisis. 😔
I am having to job search in another city as my current wfh job is ending.
Has anyone asked for their mileage to be reimbursed when going into town for a final round interview? This job is about 4 hours from where I am currently. I am a newer paralegal and dont want to screw up my chances if I ask for reimbursement (or relocation assistance). My husbands telling me to shoot my shot, but idk...
Is it common for a firm to provide those perks? I've made it clear I am relocating but didnt say it was for this job. Its a national firm and they have offices all over and the pay is pretty high ($80k+)
Hey all,
I may be relocating here from tri cities for work. What're you all paying for daycare (13 month old) and do you recommend areas that arent ungodly expensive (under 4k/month 3 bed) and family friendly? Id be working by pike place and ill be taking my first trip to the area next week. I plan to check out Bremerton.
I have a 9 yo too, hes on an iep plan for auadhd, so if you have elementary schools to recommend (or not), that would be helpful too.
Thankssss ETA- I appreciate everyone's responses, it definitely helps to get an idea for budgeting
Well. I just got promoted to Paralegal from Legal Assistant at my very small firm. The problem? We are running out of work and the attorney swears she is not retiring, but honestly isn't working her files nor attempting to obtain referrals for the 1 other paralegal and I to work. I was hoping to have this gig through the end of the year, but we think she's retiring without formally telling us (or has her head buried to face reality, both can be true). Im in se washington, and there's not much work where I am and we cant uproot our lives to seattle or portland.
So fam. How bad is job hunting right now? I'm remote ($27/hr) and its WC defense. Id love to do something with IP, trademark, med malpractice... idk. I've been a paralegal officially for a literal month and im really worried about being out of a job soon. 🙃
Are indeed and ziprecruiter it for online job boards?
