UMC202HD high pitch tone/whine issue

Hello everyone,

i recently bought a Behringer UMC202HD for native ASIO for guitar with amp sims on my PC, but, im dealing with an incredibly annoying, high pitched whistling tone in my headphones that is driving me absolutely insane. It sounds exactly like severe tinnitus right after a concert.

To make it clear this is NOT regular white-noise analog hiss/noise floor. There is a quiet, normal background hiss that changes linearly with volume, which I expected. This is a separate, louder, distinct, single continuous frequency around 15/16khz

Heres some things i tried so far: playing with any and every port on the unit, playing with any and every button/switch on the unit, i tried plugging it into an unplugged laptop. The things that actually affected anything is 1. the volume knob, the noise doesnt scale linearly with volume, its louder closer to 0% and 100% volume, while at around 12 o clock on the volume knob its quieter actually, 2. flipping on phantom power caused the noise to dip in frequency a little bit for like a second, before climbing back up, like the power in the unit dipped for a moment.

Im using IEMs which are inherently more sensitive to something like this, but it doesnt seem normal that a dedicated piece of hardware is worse than a front panel jack on a pc with a budget motherboard that basically cost the same as this interface. Soo is my unit faulty or is it just like that? i can still get a replacement

Audio interface hiss problem

So i bought a behringer umc202hd, i wanted it for asio and to play guitar on my pc, and on the headphone out it has a hiss sound present at any volume, it sounds like i got tinnitus after a concert, i dont really notice it while playing, but it sure is annoying any time theres a small silence, i tried using different usb ports on my pc, still the same, i tried plugging it into an unplugged laptop, and it still made that noise, so it shouldnt be a ground issue. I cant try the other output for studio monitors well, since i dont have anything to plug in there, but i tried plugging in my headphones there and it still seemed to be there just quieter. It all technically works, i can connect it to my pc, play, all the buttons work, when i crank the preamp on the input i can hear noise with the direct monitor option, ect ect... I use iems, which are low impedance, if it matters... So does this mean its faulty? Or am i doing something wrong? I can still return it. I esentially got it since it seemed like a cheaper scarlett solo with pretty much everything i needed Edit: now im noticing the hiss actually gets quieter around 50% volume on the knob, closer to the extremes its louder
