Why do we argue about small things when the big question is unanswerable?

Today I was sitting with my friends smoking a cigarette.

Two of them started arguing outta nowhere. Flat earth vs round earth.

Funny at first then it got kinda heated.

Both of them so sure of what they believe. but believing something and actually knowing it aint the same thing.

I just sat there and one thought kept looping in my head.

what the fuck is all of this.

your born into a body you didnt ask for. apparently the smartest species on the planet. body's flawed, life aint safe, you didnt pick your name, didnt pick where you were born, got brought here with zero permission and one day you just die.

and in between them two things your supposed to deal with heartbreak, bills, loss, war, sickness, being lonely, and if your lucky maybe a few good moments here and there.

you could end up with nothing. you could die tomorrow. nothing is guaranteed.

and yet here we are

arguing about the shape of a planet

like that doesnt even bother us

who are you

what are you

what even is consciousness

why does the universe exist at all

it doesnt owe us an answer btw

we know we're gonna die but we still plan out decades ahead

we fall in love, fight wars, make art, have kids, then just disappear

every emotion, agony, hope, joy, depression, all of it just chemicals doing their thing in the brain

most of what we do comes down to a few incentives. survival. pleasure. status. belonging. reproduction.

and somehow we argue for hours over stuff we'll never fully prove either way

maybe the earth is round. maybe thats not even the real question

what actually messes with my head is

why are we here at all

wtf is all this

Freelancer with a real team now, should i brand myself as an agency or keep it personal?

i've been freelancing as a web developer for more than 8+ years, but over time i've build a solid team around me, ( desingers, backend devs, etc)
at this point we can comfortably handle full website projects from start to finish.
now im reworking my portfolio and im kinda stuck on how i should position myself.
im thinking about a few options:

#keep it as a personal portfolio and just mention that i work with a team.
# goo all in on agency/studio branding.
#do a mix of both , where my name is front and center but its clear theres a team behind me.
the reason im hesitating is that i feel like other people trust people more than companies. on the other hand , since im not really a solo freelancer anymore , calling myself just a freelancer doesnt feel accurate either.

for anyonewho's gone from solo freelancing to running a small agency or studio , what did u end up doing?? did u keep ur personal brand or switch fully to the company? looking back, would u do it the same way again?

Been kinda obsessed with neuro-acoustic research lately and ended up building something around it.

The idea is basically this:Certain sound frequencies like binaural beats / isochronic tones can apparently push your brain toward focus or sleep states. I know it sounds a little “bro science” at first lol, but there’s actually a decent amount of peer reviewed research behind it.

So I started building an app around that concept.

Not trying to make another generic “lofi beats to study to” app. More like structured sound sessions with actual intent behind them + personalization depending on whether you’re trying to focus, sleep, relax, etc.

Still super early/beta stage and I’m not trying to sell anything rn.I genuinely just want honest opinions.

Have you tried stuff like this before?Did it actually do anything for you or was it placebo? And what would make you use an app like this consistently instead of trying it once and forgetting about it?

You can roast the idea too btw. I can take it.

i'm building an app that uses sound to help your brain focus/sleep better. roast my idea.

been obsessing over neuro-acoustic research for a while now. basically, certain sound frequencies (binaural beats, isochrot tones) can nudge your brainwaves into focus or sleep states, there's actual peer reviewd science behind it, not just vibes.

I'm building an app around thiss.

it's not like those chill lofi play list thing.

it's more structured, science first, with personalization based on what you're trying to do.

still in beta, no hard sell. i genuinely want to know:

Have you tried anything like this before? Did it work?

What would make you actually use something like this daily?

Happy to share the research if anyone's curious. Honest feedback only, I can take it.
