Visiting family without the expectation of paying for everyone

I’ve rented a large house and hired a car. I’ve payed for meals and excursions. I do so out of love and genuinely want the best for my family. But if I go to someone’s house, I’m still expected to buy handa for everyone.

I’ve flown two family members into Manila and got them their own Airbnb near mine, and they never offer to take us for a meal or even just pay for their own. People ask to visit or see me and I believe they do so with the expectation that I’ll be paying.

I want to spend time with my family without being expected to pay for everything and everyone. My brother was just here for a month and didn’t get in contact with anyone. I totally understand why he did so, but it meant for a very awkward conversation when my family asks me why.

Just want to hear from others because I’m feeling really disheartened being here.

Hakone or Kawaguchiko worth it without Mt. Fuji views?

Traveling with kid (10M) this week. Is it still worth booking a day tour to Hakone or Kawaguchiko even though Mt. Fuji is not forecasted to be visible?

My son is looking forward to the pirate ship and volcanic vents, whereas I think Kawaguchiko is pretty. But if Mt. Fuji won’t be visible, are we better off spending the day elsewhere?

Edit: Hakone seems like a fun side trip with or without Mt. Fuji. Thank you for the helpful responses!

Shooting the Rapids at Cavinti Falls - Tipping

I want to take my family of 12 to ‘shoot the rapids’ at Cavinti Falls. Can anyone suggest how much to tip the bankeros?

I want to make sure to adequately pay them for their hard work, but I also want to be conscious about budgeting since I am paying for a very large group. TIA!
