bilateral L5 pars defect w/ grade 1 spondy--help?

Hi all,

I'm a 30 year old woman who was moderately active (basketball, kickboxing). I had occasionally dealt with lower back pain, but nothing major and nothing that didn't go away after a few weeks.

9 weeks ago my hip started hurting badly; two days later, I woke up with a very painful and stiff lower back. It has been downhill since. I got an x-ray, got the pars/spondy diagnosis, and threw myself into PT. I have been doing PT for 6 weeks now, but the pain has only gotten worse. It's so bad that I can't sit at all without pain. I wake up in pain and I go to bed in more pain. Mostly a deep stabby ache near my tailbone, that feels like a knife is jammed in there. Sometimes in my left glute as well. It is extremely aggravated by sitting; standing is not much better. A little nerve pain but mostly mechanical.

This has ruined my life. I can't go into work. I can't do any normal activities--everything involves sitting. I am getting an MRI soon but I just feel so despondent. Does anybody have any advice? Any words of hope? I feel like my life is over and everything has turned so upside down.

hidden gem food spots?

I've lived in Kingsbridge heights for about a year. It's not a bad place to live, but I feel like there's a real lack of good food (other than com tam ninh kieu), unless I want to walk all the way to riverdale or arthur ave.

any suggestions for hidden gems within a ~25 minute walk?

Chair cushions/seat back recs

Recently diagnosed, bilateral L5 fractures with grade 1 spondy at L5-S1. Sitting at my office desk is hell. No nerve pain yet, all mechanical.

Looking for anything I can do to make my office chair more comfortable and take some pressure off of my spine.

Thank you!

Can I bring guests to the botanical gardens for free?

I know we get free tickets as Bronx residents; can I bring a guest for free too or does everyone have to show Bronx ID?

I’m currently in pre-authorization hell after 1.5 years on zepbound. They switched pharmacy managers, took away my prior authorization without notice, and are requiring much hoop jumping.

I like my doctor but he’s not great with the hoop jumping. He makes his RN do the prior authorizations and refuses to just call my insurance which my insurance says would solve the problem instantly.

Anyone have an endocrinologist in NYC they like that is willing to pick up the phone?
