Side Characters With and Without Episodes

Side Characters With and Without Episodes

Seymour's Bay, for being a small town, has a lot of interesting folks. One of my favorite things about Bob's is how so many side Characters get to be featured in their own plots.

Which side characters are you surprised have had an adventure as an A/B plot and which are you surprised haven't yet?

Pleasantly surprised: I love that Ms. Selbo got to be a main character in "Stop! Or My Mom Will Sleuth!"

Surprised hasn't been featured: Jocelyn. I don't understand why she hasn't had an episode about her yet!

Tamisha Iman confirms she's moved on from Drag Race

I guess she won't be coming for us in All-Stars. Despite not being at 100% during S13, it would've been nice to see Tamisha, and some other more established/veteran queens, return.

Queens Defending/Supporting Ostracized Queens

Disclaimer: DO NOT SEND HATE OR MALICIOUS MESSAGES TO ANY QUEENS. This is strictly a discussion about the community's opinion on controversial queens compared to how their fellow performers view them.

Drag Race has catapulted hundreds of entertainers onto a global stage. While we meet incredible talent through the show, several seasons have also revealed that high-level talent does not always translate to good behavior. In the court of public opinion, the fandom has established a realistic list of persona non gratae due to severe real-world actions:

Tyra Sanchez: Threatening to blow up DragCon (which turned out to be a marketing stunt for her music)

Sharon Needles: Extreme racism

Shangela: Sexual assault allegations and investigations

Soju: Sexual assault allegations and investigations

Sherry Pie: Digital sexual manipulation and catfishing

Widow Von'Du: First-degree domestic assault.

While the fandom generally views these actions as unforgivable, a major disconnect exists within the industry itself. Many of these entertainers still actively work, book gigs, and maintain close friendships with prominent RuGirls who lead the overall cultural zeitgeist.

A clear example of this happened recently on Facebook. A fan group posted about Shangela, questioning if any queen has experienced a larger fall from grace. While fans criticized her in the comments, Kennedy Davenport stepped in to defend her, stating that Shangela is doing fine and accusing the fandom of just trying to tear her down over "bull shyt".

These entertainers clearly know each other on a personal level that the audience cannot access, which often overrides public accountability. This raises a difficult question about how the fandom and the drag sisterhood handle accountability differently.

Given how the court of public opinion operates versus the reality of these personal friendships, what are your thoughts on this divide?

Manila Luzon and Carmen Carrera (2011 and 2026)

Manila and Carmen looked gorgeous back then and even more gorgeous now!

Also, it's so nice to see that amazing period dress being worn and seen by folks.

Favorite/Funniest Non-Belcher Quote?

Tammy's delivery of "IT'S AN APARTMENT!" may be my absolute favorite quote from the show (from someone not in the main cast).

What line from a secondary character tickles you or just sits at the top of your favorite lines list?

From USA -> Israel -> Japan?

Howdy, folks. I'm a late-30s expat (originally from Texas) who moved to the Middle East a decade ago to reconnect with my roots, get my MA, and see how life ended up. I've accomplished my goals here in Israel, and with the nonstop regional instability, I'm looking to up and move on to the next chapter in my life.

Before making Aliyah (homecoming-immigration) and getting my dual citizenship, I turned down a teaching position in Tokyo helping little kids learn English. Now that I have an MA in Social Work (Crisis and Trauma Studies), I want to return to academia and get my PhD. There's a great program in Osaka, in English, that would last three years in Public Policy (similar to my MA) that I'm tempted to apply for.

While I know life and community culture is vastly different between the three countries, and am aware that foreigners in Japan have a harder time acclimating into the larger general population, I'm still erring towards moving, at least for one of the main reasons being having three degrees from three different regions of the world (to give me a larger and broader global experience). My main question(s) is/are:

- Gaijin expats: What's your experience like from an academic standpoint in Japan?

- I'm looking to avoid living in big cities (which is why I'm looking at Osaka and the countryside around it), and am considering getting land after my studies due to how cheap it is. Any issues with real estate and/or home acquisition as a non-native?

- Aside from the usual "just leave the Anglo bubble and interact with locals/natives", what are some tips to better ingratiate myself into society (especially if I'm not a big partier. I understand drinking culture is HUGE in Japan, which isn't something I'm big on, but do love performing arts and run a production company for stand-up comics and artists here in my current country)?

- While I'm sure there's little to none (from what I've researched), is there any antisemitism or possibly homophobia I need to be aware of (or areas to avoid)?

Hanging up the fishnets: drag queen Kita Mean's next steps

Kita Mean is retiring from performing to focus on managing her queer performance bar, Caluzzi. They'll still be involved in the drag scene and community, but as a mentor and leader moreso than a performer.

Silky officially welcomes Creamy into her family!

It seems that Creamy is now part of the Ganache Gurus!

Silky's caption:

> The makeover challenge this season was more than a competition for me. It was an opportunity to show Derek what chosen family meant to me. It is a gathering of individuals no matter of size, race, gender, sex, or religion. In my house, we may not always get things right the first time, but we work hard to elevate and evolve.

> Derek aka Creamy was an amazing individual to work with. He was so calm, yet he was determined to do his best. I hope that I gave him an experience that he knows that he has a place in my family.

> Let me introduce you to my kids. Mahogany, Ashton, Hevan Li, Anita, and Celeste are my kids that entertains around this country. Not pictured are Zach, Jeremy, the Late Arrono, Rosebud, and D'Andrew that do not perform. I celebrate them all because I want to instill in them a work ethic that keeps them grounded, an ambition that keeps them hopeful, and a space that makes them feel welcomed.

> I want my legacy to be that they live in their truth authentically with purpose and they dream freely with the goal to accomplish everything they put their mind to.

BenDeLaCreme Got a New Hip!

From her FB: "HIP UPDATE: It worked! They took out the old hip and put in a new guy and I’m already scootin’ around (a little). I’m very excited for what’s to come!

Pic 1: Pre-surgery posin’.

Pic 2: Post surgery leg (not graphic) I think the fact that they sharpie “yes” on your thigh so that the surgeon doesn’t replace the wrong hip is hilarious. But also, like, good.

Pic 3: Brand new bouncin’ bionic baby superhero on the move!

Thanks to everyone at UCLA orthopedic hospital for making the process as smooth and l pleasant as a full bone scoop could really be.

And THANK YOU to my at home care team @gus_lanza and @tahmmy for keeping me as safe and comfortable as possible in these post surgery days. I don’t know what I would do without you both."

A small/random detail you LIKE about Hazbin or the Hellaverse?

I always loved that not only was the singing and dancing actually addressed by non-singing characters, but it's canon that no matter how tense a situation can get, every person is fully ready to sing their emotions regardless of who's around or what the situation actually is.

For example, in S2, there must have been a few sinners watching everyone at the end trying to shield the MOL, and singing, and wondering why they couldn't just focus on the shielding part.

Any small or odd canon details y'all like? There's so much negativity I figured a fun lil appreciation post would be nice.
