Abandoned White Oak Mill - Greensboro, NC

Access Level: Medium/Hard (Potential Cameras, Businesses Surrounding, Fences, Near Police Station)
(1905-2017)

Dates Accessed:
4/27/26
4/30/26

Once the largest producer of denim in the world and the main supplier for Levi’s Jeans, the White Oak Mill in Greensboro stands in pieces of what it once was. Built by the Cone brothers from the Cone Mills company in Greensboro, this early 1900s factory was operational for over 100 years. It supplied cotton products (primarily denim) for movie stars, military members, as well as the everyday worker.

This mill helped build the city of Greensboro around it, spawning neighborhoods of mill houses for employees and building up a massive surrounding industry district. This specific building of the mill even had connections to old train tracks that once sent out large deliveries. While the company closed in the 2010s, many surrounding buildings have been renovated or reclaimed by factory and warehouse businesses.
