Realistic Batman casting

Hearing rumors that Batman has already been cast for the DCU, I came across a quote a that said, “It’s not a name I would have guessed.” This piqued my curiosity, and I started thinking about who could realistically portray Bruce. Considering this would be an older Batman with a newfound son, I believe these two actors are the closest we could get.

Dan Stevens
He could easily nail the shallow, smiling billionaire routine. But looking at any of his darker indie roles, he knows exactly how to drop that public mask in an instant to reveal a completely broken, obsessive, and brilliantly strategic Batman.

Richard Madden
Madden naturally carries that aristocratic weight that’s needed for the wealthy playboy side of Bruce Wayne. He can go from charming to completely dark, analytical, and genuinely dangerous.

What is actually going on with the Mahershala Ali Blade movie? It’s been 7 years since the announcement

I’ve been trying to keep track of the Blade reboot, but it feels like it’s been in development hell forever. It was announced back at SDCC 2019, and now, halfway through 2026, we’re still looking at a vacuum of official updates. It’s lost two directors, Bassam Tariq and Yann Demange and undergone at least five major script rewrites by various writers.

I know Disney pulled it from the official release calendar back in 2024, but I’ve seen conflicting reports, some industry insiders are claiming the solo project is officially dead and that Marvel is pivoting to a Midnight Sons ensemble film instead. Is there any concrete news on whether Mahershala Ali is still attached, or is the film officially shelved for the foreseeable future? Curious what everyone’s take is on the likelihood of this ever actually happening?

Jude Law has evolved into a master of intelligent intensity. He could perfectly channel Xavier’s educated confidence, adding a layer of sophisticated grit to the Professor's persona. With Law in the chair, a simple debate over ethics becomes a tense moment of sheer acting prowess, transforming the character into something far more complex than a mere mentor.
