Mywhoosh and Garmin Connect

Hi all,

I’m using MyWhoosh and really enjoying it. It automatically syncs my workouts to Strava, which is great, but I’d also like to get my MyWhoosh workouts into Garmin Connect so I can keep everything in one place and compare my indoor and real-world cycling data.

I have a D100 smart trainer, which only supports Bluetooth and not ANT+. Because of this, I can’t pair the trainer directly with my Garmin watch or head unit.

At the moment, if I record the workout on my Garmin, I only get the heart-rate and workout duration — no power data.

Is there a way to sync MyWhoosh workouts directly to Garmin Connect? Or do I need to download the workout files from MyWhoosh and manually import them into Garmin Connect?

If manual importing is the only option, what’s the easiest way to do it, and which file format should I use?

Thanks!

Lower tyre pressure out of saddle climbing

Recently got a new bike with wider tyre clearance so finally getting to try wider (30mm) tyres on my road bike with lower pressures. Im in instant convert, its much comfier and from Strava, faster too. The only odd thing is when im out of seat climbing, the front wheel feels squirmy and too soft under 40psi. Is this something I just have to get used to after a decade of 23mm at 70psi?

Lack of motivation to finish a race?

Ran a 50km at the weekend and pulled out at 45km after 7h50.

The race started at 3pm in serious heat (35 degrees) and I struggled to cool down for the first four hours. It got easier after dark, but running through that afternoon sun took a huge amount out of me. I felt I fuelled well, but after 40km I was empty, then major cramp hit and I could only walk.

Here is the thing though. I had 90 minutes to cover the last 5km before cut off. I could not run, but I could have shuffled it in. And I just did not want to. I had run further than a marathon, trained hard for six months (running almost 700km), and standing there at 45km I could not find a reason that finishing mattered.

A few days later, I keep going back and forth on it. Part of me doesnt regret my decision. but another part of me wonders if I am just being soft, that maybe I am not tough enough for ultras. When my back was against the wall, i gave up.

Honest questions for people who have been here, Has anyone DNF'd from apathy rather than injury or cut offs? How did you feel about it later. Is finishing actually that important, or is the shuffle to the line just ego? For those who kept going in that state, what got you through?

Not looking for sympathy, genuinely trying to work out my relationship with this sport before the next one.

Inaccurate altitude on Race S

Has anyone had issues with faulty or incorrect elevation readings? I am using a Suunto Race S. For running and hiking it is fine, but when cycling it consistently overestimates my elevation. I have a separate bike computer that records around 200m of elevation for a ride, yet my watch will say 1300m. This happens on every single ride, and I have checked carefully, it is always the Suunto that is miles off.

I have already sent it back to Suunto, and after several weeks they returned it with a replacement barometer fitted. Yet the issue continues. I am reluctant to send it back again and wait several more weeks with no watch, especially as I have a few races coming up.

Has anyone had this issue or know how to solve it?
