We rehearsed Just Like Heaven with our 80's tribute today for the very first time, and it came out like this on take one!

We play a big variety of songs and we play A Forest and Just Like Heaven with plans for The Hanging Garden / The Walk / Play For Today. I'm the drummer, I thought it would be fun to share!

Finally saw one of my favorite drummers live today, from up close!

Had the opportunity to see AAL today in Oberhausen and what can i even say man. Had the pleasure of being early so I could barricade right up front near Matt's kit. Fantastic evening with such a great setlist and it's such a treat watching such talented musicians. Any time i think im doing well I get reminded life is unfair sometimes cause how is it possible for a drummer to be THIS good. He broke a stick and didn't lose a single beat, normally that is already impressive but breaking it on an AAL song and then not missing a beat??? next level!

I even got a pick from the staff after the concert had ended! Im over the moon

New heads day! And finally a permanent solution for my drum kit!

Switched from coated emperors to evans ec2s on the toms and of course from recent post, rocking the clear black dot on my 14x6.5 WB Snare!

Also added a new 8" zultan aja splash for extra effects, stacked it on my 11" but im going to add an extra arm to put it next to the 11" instead of on top. Just a temporary solution!

And finally after 7 months I have a place to setup my kit and let it stand for however long I want it. A new garage came free in our lot and now we're using it for a music box!

Anyone else a fan of putting a clear head on a snare?

I've been experimenting with heads on my tama w/b snare after finding the sweet spot for my copeland snare. I watched a few videos of a rush tribute and the drummer used this head on his snare and it sounded absolutely awesome so i thought why not try it myself.

Long story short I put on a cs clear black dot today and with a little muffling it sounds so good, especially under phone mics / mics in general.

Head advice for tama starclassic walnut birch toms!

As many of you guys know i've shared my kit journey on this subreddit numerous times already but i'm looking for a bit of advice on this one.

What heads do you guys recommend / play for toms on a starclassic walnut birch? I've ran the standard clear g2's that came with factory and recently switched to coated emperors and clear ambas reso but i'm not fully digging the sound so far. (and quality of remo is shocking cause the coating is already chipping)

I'm also using this kit full time for gigging with my 80's tribute (cure, smiths, killing joke, simple minds, big country etc) so it needs to be suited for live usage as well.

i'm running 8-10-12 rack toms and a 16 floor.

I'm definitely digging the powerstroke 4's on bass drum though, got that dialed in like a punch to the throat😎 and recently swapped batter head of the snare to an evans hd dry and it slaps

8 inch tom finally arrived from Tama!

A week or so ago my 8 inch tom i ordered 4 months ago finally arrived from the Tama factory!

Had a lot of struggles finding a layout I like. Im quite tall with specifically long legs so placing the kick and getting the 12 inch tom close enough to the 8 and 10 was a challenge!

Definitely needs to take some getting used to but im loving it already!!

In the meantime also switched all of the heads but the snare, coated emperors on batter and ambassador clear for the reso on the toms and a
Powerstroke P3 Pinstripe on batter for the kick. I believe iirc a Powerstroke 4 on the reso but im not sure. Went down to Rotterdam Drum Department and the owner helped me with the kick heads to match as I went from the standard evans heads to new heads.

Here's to many gigs and many hours of fun playtime!
