Support more housing for the city on July 2nd at 6pm
On June 6 at 6pm there is a meeting regarding the sale of a city property to a developer, to build 34 homes.
This property is not a buffer for the Massabesic, it was purchased in the 40's to build some water tanks on. It is a stretch of woods a significant distance away from the lake.
NHDES requires the treatment of 100% of all impervious area (pavement/roofs) of new developments. This is being done as part of this project, so there will be no impacts to the drinking water. All phosphorous/nitrates/total suspended solids/ect will be filtered out. There is an entire division of engineers at NHDES who spend their entire time investigating/researching/inspecting/ect anything WQ related.
The city needs to keep building housing to expand, and there is no good reason to restrict this parcel. It is not otherwise being used. Building more housing in an area with housing is exactly what the city should be doing.
