Yesterday we had a huge rally in a lot of high-beta US semi names like ALAB, CRDO, SNDK, etc., while Korean memory names like SK Hynix / Samsung had already been bleeding for a few sessions. Today the weakness seems to be showing up again, and I can’t find one obvious company-specific reason.

Yesterday we had a huge rally in a lot of high-beta US semi names like ALAB, CRDO, SNDK, etc., while Korean memory names like SK Hynix / Samsung had already been bleeding for a few sessions. Today the weakness seems to be showing up again, and I can’t find one obvious company-specific reason.

Is this mostly:

1. simple profit-taking / mean reversion after yesterday’s rally,
2. de-risking ahead of US macro events like ISM / NFP / rates,
3. Korea-specific overhang from SK Hynix’s upcoming ADR/Nasdaq listing and bookbuilding,
4. concern about Samsung/SK Hynix’s huge memory capex plans and possible long-term oversupply,
5. or is there some new HBM / DRAM / NAND / Nvidia supply-chain news I’m missing?

I’m not looking for financial advice — just trying to understand whether today’s move is driven by actual news, macro positioning, sector rotation, or just crowded AI/semi profit-taking after a big run.
