Some recent pickups from the ever expansive Blue Note catalog. I'm not a Blue Note purist, I lean harder into the 70's releases of Soul-Funk Jazz and it's transition into Fusion Jazz, and anything the almighty Mizell Brother's priduced. That's been my bag since college.
Marlena Shaw - Who Is This B***h, Anyway?
Donald Byrd - Fancy Free
John Lee & Gerry Brown - Still Can't Say Enough
Ronnie Laws - Fever
The hunt continues for CTI albums. All recent pickups from local shops, shops out of town, and shows. Still got more to hunt down. Wonder if anyone out there has a complete CTI discography?
Jayson Lindh - Ramadan
Hubert Laws - In the Beginning
Milt Jackson - Goodbye
Deodato - 2001
Milt Jackson - Sunflower
CTI Summer Jazz at the Hollywood Bowl Live Two
Hubert Laws - Carnegie Hall
Lonnie Smith - Mama Wailer
So digging into this box got from the folks and these were all the unsleeved pieces, some bangers if you haven't heard these before. Unfortunately being unsleeved had scuffed them so bad probably be crackle filled listening. Mad about that Silver Convention and Bohannon I've been looking for cheap copy of those locally, all the rest I already got in the collection. That's how it goes when taking in orphaned collections you're doing good if 60-70 percent is in good shape. Stay tuned for the more pulls from the "Old School Album" box...
When the folks are moving probably for the last time and they say hey we still have this box from the attic come get it.
The albums in here probably hasn't seen daylight since the 80's. Check on your family elders and stay for the stories! I've gotten unexpected gems from a lot of them no longer with us. Everytime I spin one of their records I can see them in their prime groovin away.

Anyone else got some great gems from family over the years?
