Why did Zay Flowers agree to a new contract that begins after his 5th year option?

Is this typical? Does he have to sign after the 5th year option? If not, why would he agree to this? In two years when his new contract kicks in the market would be reset. Why not sign the extension to begin now or wait until his rookie deal has ended (risky I know)?

Why do teams 'name' a starter?

Prompted by todays Vikings news, I'm curious why NFL teams name a starter. I understand having a starter, managing the rep count, etc, but why the need to make this big statement. Surely, you name your starter Week 1 of the season. Murray has effectively been the starter anyway, getting over 60% of the reps with the 1's. I understand it quietens the noise but don't think organisations should make decisions to appease fans/media

Are we short at Edge?

Feels like a big drop off from AVG/Turner to the next man up. Are any of the next guys more capable than I’m giving them credit for or do we need to bring someone in?

Hindsight Coaching - England v Argentina - 71' - What would you change?

You are the England Coach. Despite your instructions to "go ahead and get another" the team retreats into a low defensive block. At 71' the hydration break happens. Assuming Argentina make the same changes. What would you do differently to change history and see England through to the final?

Your Strategy for Round 16?

Are you backing the tournament favourites and preparing for the next rounds, even spread of teams or trying to maximise round 16 points by targeting the best options for just this round?

Share Your Round 32 Transfer Strategy

WC played in MD3. I'm thinking of doubling Argentina, Spain, England, France, USA, Germany, Columbia and having 1 player from Brazil.

Please tell me why this is the absolute optimal strategy, worst strategy you've ever heard and everything else in between. Really interested to see how other people are approaching this round. Obviously the key is to score as many pts but also retain as many players moving forward to the next rounds. Let me know what you are planning to do

EDIT - I'm not convinced about tripling. 2 DEFs and it only takes 1 goal to lose 2 clean sheets. 2 MID/ATTs have to potentially share the haul

Which changes, if any, would you make to the starting XI for Ghana?

Stick with a winning team?

Saka for Madueke to restore the strongest XI?

Guehi in for Stones to solidify the defence?

Rashford for Gordon?

Chalobah for Konsa to mess with everybody?

What would you do?

What is your points threshold for keeping a player vs subbing him out?

Of course it depends on who you have as replacements, but in general, when do you stick or twist?

Seems like a legit website, based in the UK but prices tell me these aren't legit kits

The video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVyeyBMVxXg) is from Dr. Kenny Walters, an ATG coach. I like his content because he always backs up what he is saying with research.

I'd like help from someone more knowledgable than me in understanding the above video. In the video he addresses ligament, tendon, cartilage and joint capsule of the knee.

For ligament (ACL) he advocates for cyclical tension at 15-80 degree (peak ACL force) knee bend via reverse step-up

For tendon (patellar/quadriceps) he advocates for increasing tension from muscle on the tendon via active stretching ie ATG squat (heels raised/full knee bend)

For articular cartilage/meniscus he advocates for cyclical compression via ATG split squat

For joint capsule he advocates for stretching and elevating restriction via cyclical compression with ATG split squat

He then gives a breakdown of how he would practically apply this information for an optimal development of the knee structure.

Step 1 - Backwards Walking - Short range

Step 2 - Joint range loading of capsule and cartilage - loosening up joint capsule - ATG split squat (regressed as needed)

Step 3 - Loading joint range of acl and patellar tendon

Step 4 - Functional movement - ATG squat with chains

My question is what is why does he advocate for use of the split squat to loosen the joint and atg squat to target the patellar tendon. Don't they do the same thing? Cyclical compression at stretched positions and increasing tension on the tendon via the muscle. I don't understand why the ATG split squat doesnt target the patellar tendon and vice versa.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
