Male or Female Deer mouse?

This mouse came into my care over a month ago. I work at a gas station that sadly uses poison rat traps outside. A customer found a baby mouse in the middle of the parking lot with no mother to be seen. It was dehydrated and cold, so I decided to take it in to give it a second chance at life.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone can tell if it's a male or female? I know this is probably a stupid question. It kind of looks like it has balls, but they aren't always visible like that.

Is this the whole thing?

Northern Kentucky. Found this thing on me when I was getting ready for a shower. It was already dead, but it was stuck in me. I'm just wondering if it looks like I got the whole thing

Found a wild baby mouse

So, I work at a gas station. Today a customer came in and said there was a mouse in the parking lot, next to the trash cans. This is basically in the middle of the parking lot and has a lot of foot and vehicle traffic, so I brought it inside because I didn't want it to be crushed. It was really tiny and it's eyes were barely open. There were seemingly no siblings around or other signs of rodents. I called rescues and rehabilitation places in the area, but none of them take mice v_v

Anyway, I did some research and purchased some formula, food, as well as a temporary enclosure for it until I can get something bigger.

I'm posting here for two reasons. 1, when it is strong enough to survive on it's own, should I release it? 2, do you all have any tips for a first time mouse owner? I'm researching the best I can but I thought I'd get some advice from pet mouse owners as well. Thank you.
