My sister and I were watching the second half of the second season together, both SCREECHING at the screen because that new eunuch was obviously Suiren! Good lord, the bang only moved to the other side! We agreed these people were entirely face blind…

And then it got revealed that Shisui is Loulan, which neither of us had the slightest inkling of up to that point 😅 Whoops! We clocked Shisui as suspicious but thought they were setting Loulan up for season 3 lol.

Hello! I have just started watching the Mentalist. Just finished the first season, and planning on continuing shortly. I received two spoilers -- the more important one is I know "Red John" appears in an episode of the first season, which kind of blew my original theory that it was a bunch of people sharing a title/all copycatting each other, lol.

But anyway, these are my guesses, which I am recording for fun and for posterity, and to check back when I find out if I'm right or wrong. I have two.

2. Forensic analysis guy who likes his job. Blanking on his name. Shows up in the pilot (!). Very Dexter vibes coming off the guy. Honestly, the only reason he's not my running choice is I almost think it's too obvious. I feel like RJ has to have a trifle more charisma to do what he does, which leads me to my first theory.

3. The psychic (Kristina). I know it's generally taken without argument that RJ is a man, with Rosalind and everything, but honestly, she seems clever enough to have a facade on top of a facade, the real brains behind the violence with some other guy as a patsy, who was actually Rosalind's lover. I think it would be a good twist. Being a psychic is all about misdirection, and her operating in Jane's blind spot would be delicious. Of course, comforting Jane about his daughter dying painlessly would feel a lot meaner if she was complicit, but that's also partly what's convincing me because drama. So I think it's her.

Please don't tell me who Red John is, of course, but hoping to finish my binge quickly and join the community discussion more extensively! Spoilers just to be safe.
