Was the correct pitcher credited with the win here?

I'm just now learning about how the winning/losing pitcher is determined.. I watched a video (linked in an old post to this sub). I understand that Veterano was the most recent pitcher when they took the lead in the bottom of the 6th. But he gave up 3 runs, while Doe didn't give up any. I feel like this should fall under the "brief and ineffective" exception to the rule, and Doe should get the Win? I suppose SMB4's game logic just doesn't do the exception?

Edit: thank you all for the thoughtful and informative answers

New to RA, question about manually unlocking achievements

So, I'm most of the way finished with Picross 3D on the Thor, and wanted to check out retroachievements. And then of course I found out that they don't unlock retroactively upon linking my account to the emulator. That makes sense.

But, I was surprised to learn I can't just go to the site and mark which Picross 3D achievements I've already gotten. Instead I would need to submit my save file on the discord to get the achievements added to my profile retroactively for Picross 3D.

My question is...*why* is this the case? I see that there are leaderboards on the site, so that creates the need to verify them I suppose? But personally, I have no interest in leaderboards, I just want to track the cheevos for my own satisfaction.

Maybe if users could add them manually, there could be like an "unverified" flag or something, so they wouldn't count towards the leaderboards? Or are there additional reasons why it's set up like this?
