M46 85kg 185cm here. Been on the recommended routine for 2 years or so with varying consistency. Mixing up with periods of kettlebell work.
My pb for pull-ups is 8 reps, and I’d like to increase this and eventually add weight but whenever I get to this sort of volume I get struck with golfers elbow which sets me back.
Wondering if there’s anything glaring in my form that would account for the tendons being over taxed? Or any tips generally. I’m doing sets of 3-4 at the moment and focussing on form to avoid my elbow flaring up.
Thanks for any tips.
9 weeks post rupture (at musculotendinous junction), non op on the nhs.
Hoping for a little reassurance here.
My recovery has been going great so far until a couple of days ago. I was down to zero in the vacoped for a few days and have been doing physio via zoom through an online provider. Inversion/eversion, seated heel raises etc.
Three days ago I did a bit of massage of the scar tissue around the Achilles, did my usual physio, half an hour on a stationary bike, and hobbled barefoot to the front door to let my daughter in. None of these things gave me any pain at the time but the next day I woke up with the Achilles really sore and tight. Had to drop back to the rocker sole and 20 degrees to get on with my day without pain.
Today I’ve noticed a mild bit of new bruising, and the soreness is back after doing my physio.
Does this sound like the usual ups and downs of the healing process? I’m really paranoid that I’ve ruptured or set myself back somehow.
Just after some anecdotal advice. I’d speak to my doctor, but that would probably be a 6-8 week wait.
Thanks!
He wanted me to post these! Some Glocks, a desert eagle, walther ppk etc. the desert eagle fires Lego laser blast things and has a magazine.
He makes a new one pretty much every day!
Ruptured my Achilles Thursday night playing tennis. Came out of the blue. I’m fit and healthy for my age (46).
Had a good experience at A+E. In and out ina. Few hours with a back slab cast and prescription for blood thinners.
I was told I’d be booked in for an ultrasound or mri and got a text asking me to confirm 11th June for the follow up appointment.
That’s nearly 3 weeks after injury.
Apart from being annoying to wait so long, should I be worried about not being seen sooner? Could this wait negatively affect my recovery? I’m wondering if I should get the scan and final diagnosis privately to speed things up or am I worrying unnecessarily?
I need to get back on my feet ASAP as I’m self employed and work on my feet!
Would be good to know others experiences.
Thanks!
Hello,
We had our (Victorian terraced house) hallway plastered 2 years ago now - gypsum skim on top of original lime plaster with blue grit primer between.
Two years on and when the temperature outside is above about 15 degrees the whole hallway smells strongly of newly plastered walls.
We have plenty of air bricks into the ventilated subfloor and our neighbours did the exact same thing and have no smells.
It’s driving me a bit nuts as I know we’ll be living with this smell again now until autumn/winter and it’s a bit nauseating!
Has anyone got any ideas/a solution?
I know lime would have been the best option, but at £35 per m2 it wasn’t really an option for us and to remove the gypsum skim would be heartbreaking and super depressing.
Please help!
Many thanks.
