Hey everyone! I’ve recently started collecting the mainline Disgaea games on PlayStation (from PS2 to PS5). Right now, I’m sticking strictly to standard/deluxe cases so I can keep a clean, uniform line-up on my shelf while still having the games ready to play.

Disgaea isn't huge where I live, which actually worked in my favor: I picked up a brand-new sealed Disgaea 6 Deluxe Edition (PS5) for about $24 USD, and Disgaea 7 Deluxe is sitting around $38 USD (and likely dropping further).

Out of nowhere, a local marketplace seller listed brand-new sealed Limited Editions for both Disgaea 6 and 7 (PS5) at original NIS retail price. Price wise, it’s a great deal because importing them directly from NIS America to my country would cost me around $80+ USD just in shipping and fees.

I’m really tempted, which brings me to a genuine question for fellow collectors: Are the Limited Editions actually worth it in practice?

I get the appeal of soundtrack CDs. However, for the extra physical trinkets like artbooks, posters, and cards, do they actually get appreciated past the first look, or do they mostly end up boxed away? It consumes storage space as well.

The standard/deluxe cases already come with mini guides that you can look at (plus D6 Deluxe having a physical CD inside the case).

Hi! I recently got pulled into the series with Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, and now I'm interested in building a physical collection of the Trails games.

I'm considering the following options:

Set A (PS4 + PS5)

• Trails from Zero & Trails to Azure (PS4)
• Trails of Cold Steel I–IV (PS4)
• Trails into Reverie (PS4)
• Trails through Daybreak to Beyond the Horizon (PS5)
• Trails in the Sky remakes (PS5)

Pros:

• I think this set would look great lined up on a shelf.
• The Crossbell, Erebonia, and Reverie games are all on PS4, which nicely marks the end of those story arcs.
• The Calvard arc and future games would all be on PS5, marking the start of the next era.

Cons:

• My biggest issue is that I'd have to buy second-hand copies of Trails of Cold Steel III and IV, as I can no longer find brand-new US/R1 physical copies. There is a PS5 release, but III and IV are bundled into a single case. I just think one game per case looks better on the shelf.
• Another concern is that the PS4 versions of Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure cost around 112.39 USD. The upcoming PS5 release is only 70.24 USD but includes both games in one case.

Set B

This is nearly identical with Set A except the following:

• Trails of Cold Steel III and IV (PS5)
• Trails Into Reverie (PS5)
• Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure (PS5)

Pros: This would be generally cheaper than looking for 2nd hand Trails of Cold Steel III and IV physical copies.

Cons: Hmm I think Set A would look better when lined up. (What do you think?)

Set C

• Trails of Cold Steel I and II (PS Vita)
• Everything else, including future releases (Nintendo Switch)

Just adding this as an option for anyone looking to build a handheld collection. The main downside is that PS Vita copies are now quite rare and tend to be overpriced.

What do you guys think? If you were starting a physical Trails collection today, how would you build yours?
