broke latch-lock assembly right after buying my 98 XJ - any tips

I broke my latch-lock assembly. The latch was in the lock position and I didn't realize. Closed it and I think I smashed it permanently shut.

I used penetrating oil, had someone pull the latch inside, have it a good wiggle and a pry.

The replacement is literally one screw and $40.00 but for the sale of asking, anybody been where I am before? Any tips?

Woodworker - made a deck box that actually fits in your kit

Note* I'm sketched about using WOC cards in posts and marketing so I'm blurring stuff. Sorry if that bothers y'all but it's just what I'm about. I use fake cards sometimes too. Again, I know some folks find it jarring but it's just what the other deck box sellers do so I'm following them.

I make products for all kinds of hobbies, but this one came from wanting a deck box I actually couldn’t find anywhere.

I wanted something that would hold 100 double-sleeved cards, stay slim enough to fit in my deck case, show off the commander, and avoid hinges or external hardware that catch on everything.

So I made one.

It’s called the Woodcraft Gaming Co. Deck Box. I’m making them in a bunch of different wood options, with color-coded lids and a few different style variations.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, you can check it out here: https://woodcraftgamingco.etsy.com
