Josh Howerton, Senior Pastor of Lakepointe Church in Rockwall, Texas (with satellite campuses all across the Dallas Metropolitan area) extended a “once in a lifetime” opportunity for his congregants to meet with him and ask him questions about the church and give more money than they currently give. If it’s once in a lifetime, you don’t have a pastor. If he’s extending this through video, he doesn’t know or care about you. If this is to get more money from you, he wants your money more than you. If you don’t give more money, something’s wrong with your heart. If this is your church, you don’t have a church, you’ve got an MLM scheme. Josh has modeled Lakepointe off of Mars Hill and Christ Church and has aligned himself with both Mark Driscoll and Doug Wilson. He’s a grifter who uses Jesus to pad his pockets, launch his podcast, and grow his social media footprint. He’s talked about little girls as sex objects for older men, shamed women into dressing “modestly,” has plagiarized multiple sermons… and then plagiarized his apology for plagiarism. Bare Marriage and Tia Levings, Writer have done a lot of the leg work to show how dangerous Josh is, go and follow their work! And. So. Much. More. Lakepointe is one of the fastest growing churches in America, and Josh is one of the more popular pastors in the country. He’s a young Driscoll and Wilson for a younger generation.
