Voice assistant on HA works with button click. Can wake word work with HA?

Got my hands on a used FB portal. It appears to have been reset, because when plugged in, it goes to setup. However, I have no FB account (and don't want one). I tried the WhatsApp setup, but it never shows the QR code.

I have the device on a VLAN that lets it reach outside, but nothing inside my network. It makes many calls to www.google.com and connectivitycheck.gstatic.com. The fact that it calls so frequently suggests it is not getting the response it expects. It eventually times out.

Is the FB account necessary? Is there a way to get some anonymous or fake account just for purposes of setting up this device to do what I want, which involves nothing on the internet?

I hope someone has ideas on how to debug this. But after working without trouble for years, JF started hanging. It happened once per day, now several times a day.

I have four always on clients, plus a couple android clients that are just used for control. JF runs in a docker container on Linux with plenty of resources. There are 2.2k movies, 7.3k episodes, and 25k songs. Sometimes the number of threads grows to several hundred, and the container continues to run, but is extremely slow to respond for most interactions, and will time out on the clients.

I have tried disabling all plugins. I have rebuilt the container from scratch, without importing any settings or database. But the problem shows up on the new container.

What to do? Any help is appreciated.

I have been struggling for a couple days to migrate to a new box, and the problem deals with DHCP v4. On my old box, I have not yet migrated to KEA, and do not want to until I have this new box working. The old box will become a back up, and will migrate then.

This means that I can have a fresh install on the new box, and things work OK. But once I migrate the config.xml, it stops working. I have tried many different ways to do this migration, each with a different set of problems. Sometimes, opnsense gives my plugged-in laptop on LAN an IP address, but there is no communication between them. No pings respond either direction.

My latest iteration, though, does not connect, and os-isc-dhcp isn't even installed. Trying to install it fails. By different iterations, it means the order after install of 1) updating, 2) installing plugins, 3) importing config.xml

So what approach should I take to fix this? Try installing an older version of OPNsense on the new box? The currently working box is

OpenSSL 3.0.20

I am afraid to update anything until the new install is working. This setup has been working great for years, so the configuation is not so simple anymore, and migration is essential.

I have been experimenting with this, but so far it hasn't worked. One obstacle is that it sometimes works once, and then not a second time, and then the Fire TV remote doesn't work either. That means rebooting into eMMC to get back to FireOS, repairing the remote, rebooting into CoreELEC and cloning the remote again. This makes experimentation really slow.

The main obstacle is the "consumer friendly" way that WebOS on the LG TV uses its "Magic Remote" setting. It doesn't give me the right options, and there is no way to get in and tweak settings, since it is not rooted.

Has anyone gotten this sort of setup to work reliably and can share their setup? What device did you tell the TV is connected to the HDMI input?
