GOOG 140 @ 355

GOOG 140 @ 355

I had 85 shares and wanted to buy GOOG if/when it drops to $320. But I couldn’t sit still so now I’m at 140 shares at approx 355ish. I can’t easily get the exact price without calculations because I swing traded several times but stopping with the swing trade now and will just accumulate.

This has become a strong conviction for me because I’m currently working on Google Cloud AI integrations and loving it. I’m also enrolled to University AI course this coming fall that I do on the side.

I’m a high level/tier software engineer and been on the field for 25+ years.

I also have a monetized YT channel that I’m DCAing monthly into GOOG. I’ve slowed down on YT but have a cumulative $38k USD YT income that I wish I’ve thrown earlier (starting 3 years ago) into GOOG but better late than never. I’ve attached a screenshot of my latest YT earnings.

So all of the above are my reasons for strong conviction to GOOG. I also transferred more cash from another FI and want to buy more if it drops to $320. I hope I can be patient this time and wait for the drop.

Hoping to hold for 10 years.

How many GOOG shares do you have and how long are you holding?

Built a GOOG buy ladder in case of market crash

Disclosure: I’m a software engineer working with Google Cloud products, I run a small monetized YouTube channel, and I hold 85 shares at ~$355 avg.

I built a GOOG buy ladder in case of market crash. This is on top of my DCA approx $300/mo.

I plan to hold for 10+ years but also thinking of swing trading a few shares a long the way.

I’m curious if others do the same.

Not investment advice.

Damaged box

Box arrived damaged.

One corner has been torn open enough that someone could potentially reach inside.
The cardboard is crushed and ripped, not just dented.

Device appears to be not tampered with holographic sticker intact.

Should I be concerned?

What % do you pre-commit to cash before a panic, and does having that number actually stop you from selling everything?

Moved 15% to cash in early June to lock in gains, planned to DCA it back. Pulled the trigger today and redeployed into a global equities fund.

Grantham making people nervous, but he seems very early. I’m curious whether a pre-decided number helps you from selling all during a panic.

XEQT or Google? (15 years horizon)

I have a YT channel that is earning between $250 to $350 a month. I want to DCA that monthly into either Google or XEQT. I’m retiring between 5 to 9 years depending on the markets. But I’m willing to hold this new bucket in tax free savings account (TFSA) for 15 years. I want to go all in either XEQT or Google. What would you choose?

Also, my bank charges $9.99 per trade. So I can either DCA with my bank every 3 months to save on fees or open a Wealthsimple account with no trading fees and DCA every month. What do you think?
