Waitin' 3 years to make a DAILY DRIVER

I just can't seem to get the car reliable and comfortable.... some wiring gremlins from adding the stereo/amp & windshield washer pumper....

I think the SVDA distributor and vacuum line added to the Kadron (Driver Side) has eliminiated the hesitation section of the RPM/Throttle journey....

I replaced the Door Gaskets with German ones, but can't seem to align the door hinges and striker plates to close nice and tightly.... A good VW door with 'POP your EARS' a bit, no?

Best Finishing Touches???

Hi,

I've pulled the whole Super Beetle apart and installed sound deadening rubber and foam and 3 new carpet sets: Back / Passenger / Frunk....

Kadrons rebuilt w/new throttle bodies..... Accerator / clutch cables... 4 new speakers with cool kick panel and a rear deck that fits nicely...

The wiring after taking the dashboard OFF... and fixing the Fresh Air / Fan System is a MESS...

Seems like most of the shops doing VW finishing are in CA or Arizona... I'll have to do it myself.

What are some good tips for BUTTONING THIS UP FOR DAILY DRIVING???

2-Wheel Tow Dolly OK?

Hello,

I need to tow this 74 S.B. from CT to OK (1,500 miles)... seems like backing the car onto a dolly and locking the steering wheel makes sense... Renting a car carrier is expensive...

Has anyone towed a Beetle far? If so, what orientation?

Mechanical pump outlet to kadron splitter inlet mis-match sizes

Thanks for the advice regarding the Facet Electric Pump and Dual Kadrons last week.... I installed the OEM 100mm pushrod mechanical pump, but now have a mismatch in alternator pump type outlet size (6mm or so) and the small inlet to the splitter to the Left/Right Kadrons.

It's not safe to tighten the larger hose with a clamp.

Any suggestions? I think the stock fuel line in 5.5mm ID? Not sure about the splitter OD....

Facet Pump Clanking Dry / 74 S.B. w/Dual 40 Kadrons

Anyone have a Facet pump installed below the fuel tank that has flow problems? Appears that it runs dry (gets louder because of the mechanical clicking of the diaphram).... car stalls....

Wrong orientation? Hose sucked until collapses? It's a new fuel tank... new hoses....

Do you run it up/down....or horizontal... or on a 45 degree inlet down or 45 degree inlet high?

Making me crazy... I want to go back to the OEM even tho I run Kadrons....

All Systems are forms of Capitalism (but voluntary?)

Socialism, Feudalism, Mecantilism, Monarchies, Communism....

Somebody decides they would like something to be fixed, built, invented.... they either voluntarily raise their own money, use their own time and energy and take risks of losing the above.... or, somebody who controls the Army and All the Guns TELLS YOU....

  1. This land will belong to this group/person/company (Capital allocation)

  2. Your time will be spent doing this (Labor Allocation)

  3. My rules are now the ONLY RULES (Arbitration / Legislation / Judiciary (or none)

  4. Losses are due to the incompetence of others (kill them) or the peasants not having their collective hearts and minds properly dedicated (Mao Great Leap Backward / Cultural Revolution

......Capitalism will have some Big Winners... but generally, nobody is compelled to eat ZOO ANIMALS because a socialist Dictator named Jugo Chavez appointed a boot-licking Bus Driver to Run every industry in the country.
