Meds for vet appointment

My 60lb BMC is extremely anxious at the vet and will not allow anyone to come near her. This makes it very difficult when it comes to administering vaccines. She has her yearly check up tomorrow and requires 2 shots. The vet prescribed 600mg of Gabapentin and 200mg of Trazodone to be taken two hours before the appointment. She’s already on 40mg of Fluoxetine daily. This seems like a lot. Does anyone have experience with meds for situational anxiety? Does this dosage sound right?

Allergies?

Millie is a 4yo Black Mouth Cur who has a recurring rash on her inner legs/stomach. It started in March when the snow started melting and she also had very itchy paws. I assumed it was snow mold. Her paws are now fine but this rash keeps coming back. It gets better if I put apply hydrocortisone and put a cone on her for a few days. Once the cone comes off she starts licking again and rash reappears. No change in food, she’s been eating PPP sensitive stomach/skin Salmon since she was 2

Water treadmill!

I wish I had started the video sooner… she was swimming in the same spot for a few minutes before she realized she wasn’t getting anywhere and finally gave up!

Weighted Backpack

Anyone with a BMC knows how difficult it is to tire them out! I invested in a weighted backpack for her, and it has been a game changer. She’s just as tired after a 30-minute walk around the block as she is after an hour-long run in the woods. It’s brilliant!
