Can't decide between Old World and Crusader Kings 3

Hello friends.

First, just cause I know the comments the title will get: I'm aware these 2 games aren't that similar and CK3 is not a 4X game. Im mainly posting here to hear the opinion of those who have played both games.

I enjoy 4X games (except space ones, i like having a hexagonal map to explore). I love Endless Legend, AoW4 and have played some civ 5 and 6 which I enjoy but dont love.

Im considering Old world because the events and family systems seem interesting to roleplay a bit and create emergent narratives. One problem I tend to have with Civ is the games feel a bit samey and boardgame-y. On the other hand, when thinking of getting Old World, i keep going back to 'but i have civ, humankind, EL and AoW4, do i need another?' (maybe i do lol)

CK3 leans more on the emergent narrative side and im very curious about it, but ive never played a game like it and I worry ill end up overwhelmed. The closest would be Dwarf Fortress in terms of having my own objectives, I just havent played DF in a while cause the survival aspect stresses me a bit

Anyway. Curious to hear you guys' opinion, specially those that went into CK3 as their first game of that kind, what was your experience, did it click? Was it overwhelming?

And on the OW side, is it different enough from civ and other games i listed? Do the events which seem to be the most interesting thing keep things varied enough? Or do they get repetitive?

Thank you!

Do you enjoy campaign games?

Random discussion time!

Im curious if you guys as solo boardgamers prefer games with campaigns or one-offs.

If you do enjoy campaigns, what do you enjoy? Story? Character progression? RPG-ness?

If you don't, what makes you not enjoy them?

In my case, I prefer one offs. My favorite games are Spirit Island and Marvel Champions (not campaign mode). I've tried Arkham Horror LCG for campaign and as much as I love the game itself, I struggle to finish campaigns cause I always wanna see other characters/cards/missions.

To be fair Im currently playing an Earthborne rangers campaign 2-handed and enjoying it, im just making progress really slowly lol.

Normally I also dont play boardgames for story. I like thematic games, and how a certain mechanic gets translated into boardgame form (like how Spirit Island implements the volcano or ocean spirits that makes you go 'ohhh that makes sense') rather than story itself.

Looking for Euro worker placement/tableau building suggestions

Hello friends. Currently considering getting a game or two for solo play and feeling like a not-so-heavy euro with either worker placement or tableau building.

Specifically looking for quick-ish setup and enough variability/replayability to keep things interesting. The game doesnt need to have both worker placement and tableau/engine building.

Some examples of games I own and fit what im looking for:

- Nusfjord Big Box

- Fantastic Factories

- Viticulture

Some examples that do NOT fit what im looking for:

- Voidfall (too big, too long setup)

- Feast For odin (similar to above. Lots of pieces, technically could be an option if someone can convince me the setup isnt bad and that its different enough from Nusfjord to own)

- Ark Nova (played it, enjoyed it, but too big and long for what im looking for)

Some games I'm considering:

- Shipwrights of the north seas Redux

- Raiders of Scythia

- Sanctuary (maybe? Unsure on setup)

i don't mind beat your own score or automa as long as the automa is easy to run.

Would love other recommendations, ideally stuff that is actually in print / not super hard to find
