FILM SCREENING The Passion of Joan of Arc Tuesday Aug 11th Liberty Hall

Tuesday, August 11th 7:00 PM Admission: $5 Liberty Hall 103 E. Erwin St., Tyler, TX Carl Theodor Dryer's The Passion of Joan of Arc. Fully restored with the candescent Voices of Light score. Hosted by Liberty Hall and the East Texas Film Society. Close captioned/ with intertitles

Synopsis from the Criterion Collection: "Spiritual rapture and institutional hypocrisy come to stark, vivid life in one of the most transcendent masterpieces of the silent era. Chronicling the trial of Joan of Arc in the hours leading up to her execution, Danish master Carl Theodor Dreyer depicts her torment with startling immediacy, employing an array of techniques—expressionistic lighting, interconnected sets, painfully intimate close-ups—to immerse viewers in her subjective experience. Anchoring Dreyer’s audacious formal experimentation is a legendary performance by Renée Falconetti, whose haunted face channels both the agony and the ecstasy of martyrdom."

The Mist Walmart exclusive BluRay- questions

I recently ordered this Blu-ray of The Mist because I thought the cover was really cool and unique. I know that Walmart occasionally does special slipcovers for Halloween, etc?

Does anyone know whether this was one of those, and if so, do you know of any other titles that were given this treatment?

I know this one is more of a long shot, but does anyone happen to know the name of the artist, out of curiosity?

Carnival of Souls Screening - Kooky Tuesdays, Tues July 14 at Liberty Hall - psychological horror film

Five bucks general admission, FREE for East Texas Film Society members

Synopsis (from Criterion): "A young woman (Candace Hilligos) in a small Kansas town survives a drag race accident, then agrees to take a job as a church organist in Salt Lake City. En route, she is haunted by a bizarre apparition that compels her toward an abandoned lakeside pavilion. Made by industrial filmmakers on a small budget, the eerily effective B-movie classic Carnival of Souls was intended to have “the look of a Bergman and the feel of a Cocteau”—and, with its strikingly used locations and spooky organ score, it succeeds. Herk Harvey’s macabre masterpiece gained a cult following on late-night television and continues to inspire filmmakers today."

Description: Film poster advertising Carnival of Souls, 1962. Tagline: She escaped death- now it wants her BACK!

The photo is in psychedelic colors. Tuesday, July 14th at 7:00 pm. Admission: $5. 103 E. Erwin St., Tyler, TX 75702. Kooky Tuesdays every second Tuesday at Liberty Hall. Schools/ clinics question

Hello,

I'm going back to school this semester with hopes of working in an outpatient clinic (or even hospital would be okay) when I graduate. I work admin in a clinic now. I've noticed most people seem to work in schools, but I DO NOT want to do this. In fact, I hate children. I want to work with adults post stroke, surgery, etc. I do not want to go to school if most people are forced into working for schools. What is your experience? Thank you for your time.
