Colored my hair and tried to bring my curls out

First three are after pics and the last three are before pics. Idk how to make my curls look good. This is after dyeing it Light Honey Brown and then using some curl mousse and diffusing with a blow dryer.

Any advice is appreciated

DNA 🧬 GENDER RESULTS ARE IN…

And we have a little girl!! I’m so happy because our other ‘tiel is a girl as well, so exactly what we were looking for!

She is 12 weeks old, hand raised baby. Extremely sweet! She shoves her head into my hand for scritches.

What color mutation is this?

12 weeks old. I know s/he is whiteface pearl. But is she also cinnamon? The parents’ were whiteface pearl pied so I know she is pied (even though she doesn’t look it). She had two cinnamon siblings.

My cockatiel was startled and fell after landing on basket…

Sorry we laughed. We just weren’t expecting that at all.

She just got startled by my husband because he is silent AF and startles me often too. I think she seems okay. I have some videos of her now.

I slowed the video down and I think the basket hit the dresser and not her. Everything in the basket was very light. Like a small packet of tissues, nearly empty pill box, etc.

Eating her chop

Wonder loves her beans and chop. Even if the carrots turn her beak orange.

She ran into a window a couple days ago so that is why her bare has a boo boo.

New baby - I’m obsessed.

I’ve never had a baby before. My first ‘tiel we think was around 6 months old when we got her but I don’t know for sure. We’ve had Sonder for 2 years and she is a Lutino pearl female sass queen.

Anyways, we decided to get her a friend, and I found a breeder and bought this beautiful whiteface pearl (pied?) 11 week old cockatiel that he hand raised. All his cockatiels were so friendly and sweet. This cutie pie started climbing all over me immediately and I don’t think I even held at the other one he had left (an absolutely stunningly gorgeous pearl cinnamon whiteface).

We named them Epiphany (or Pip) for short. They are super sweet and affectionate. We just got them on Saturday morning, (it’s Monday night now) and she is already getting a little braver, flock calling to my other cockatiel across the house, eating in front of us, crawling and today they consented to scritches and they were pushing their head into my hand for more. They’ll tolerate scritches if you force it but I don’t like to do that. I want them to trust me and consent.

Anyways, I want to share her cuteness and give me any tips you have!

What do I do with my hair?

What can I do to make my hair look better? This is air dried. No styling. I prefer low maintenance. I have some grey and you can see my natural hair color better in the photos when my hair is up.

How I ask permission to give scritches

This is my 2.5 year old Sonder. I make a pinching motion with my fingers and if she bows her head, I take that as a yes. When she gets annoyed, I stop. Today was a bit of a mixed signal. She can be a bit of a sasshole sometimes.

Name ideas?

Just brought home this new baby - 11 weeks old. The breeder said he was guessing a female but since they are only 11 weeks old it’s impossible to tell.

My Lutino female cockatiel is named Sonder and I want a name just as lovely for this bird. Any suggestions?

Ideas for working with my rising 5th grader on math

Hello! My daughter is 10 and a rising 5th grader. She has an IEP for ADHD, slow processing speed, and poor working memory. She has a reading disorder. She has actually made huge gains in reading and writing is about at grade level. But her math is still far behind (around 1st grade level). I want to work with her over the summer on her math skills. She attends a Montessori charter school. I also work there in K/1st but I am still in training and haven’t covered math yet.

Any ideas of what I can work on her with?

Her teacher said she struggles most with longer addition, subtraction, multiplication and long division when the process has several steps. She actually did really well with fractions.

I just need some ideas that will help her. I’m thinking shoring up her math facts will help make the longer tasks easier?

Considering getting a 2nd tiel…

Hello - I found these 10 week old babies someone is selling for $150 each. The grey pied and pearl are the two he thinks are females (based on behavior but admitted it’s hard to tell as this age) and the last one is a photo of the parents. There is also a cinnamon and cinnamon pied but he thinks those might be males.

I have a female Lutino who I estimate to be around 2.5 years old who is tame and friendly. I try to spend a lot of time with her but I feel guilty when she spends time alone.

We had two other cockatiels before - I had a sweet female who I was working on taming from an aviary and then someone gave us a male that they found in the woods then kept in a cage alone for 3 years (the cage was filthy and too small). The female and male ended up bonding but the male HATED me. He would actively chase me down and bite the shit out of me. I ended up rehoming them both as a bonded pair to someone willing to work with him and I didn’t want to take away his friend.

I would like to get my girl just one friend, as she was left out last time as she didn’t like the male at all and only the other female. I prefer female because of my experience with the other male but I know that males can also be sweet. I take care to make sure my baby doesn’t get hormonal (no inappropriate petting, no nests, 12 hours of darkness - she gets grumpy at bedtime anyways lol).

Sonder says Good Morning.

Her favorite toy is a hair tie. Forget all the expensive toys I’ve bought her. She wants a hair tie!
