OneWorld Saphire (Atmos Gold) - American Paid Upgrade

I hold Atmos Gold status giving me OneWorld Saphire. I don't hold any status with American.

I booked AA international long haul in economy using AA points but entering my Atmos number, giving me seat upgrades, free bags, and other benefits.

I accepted a paid upgrade to J on this route. It appears American gives 5pts/$ on the cost of this upgrade.

Am I correct that I won't earn any Atmos points (either base or status) on the cost of this upgrade? Assuming not, is there any benefit to Sapphire status when already flying in J?

Assuming I am right about how this works, seems the best bet is to change the frequent flyer number to American.

Start Line Series

NYRR released for registration three “Start Line Series” races on 7/25 (3M, Queens), 8/1 (5K, Manhattan), and 8/22 (5K, Bronx). The races are not 9+1 but (at least based on last year) volunteer spots should be.

Since these three races are all scored and 3M or longer, all three are opportunities to improve best paces and marathon coral placement.

Achilles Hope & Possibility 4M Shirt

I actually like the purple color and appreciate they did not do yellow again, hopefully they listened to the feedback about how that created a bit of a safety issue last year.

A small plug - I like to give a small donation to the sponsors of these races when they are charities I support. Please consider doing the same. Here is the link to give to Achilles: https://give.achillesinternational.org/campaign/687637/donate

In the Set the Pace Podcast there is a lot of helpful info on the race (discussion starts at 16:40). Most interestingly though, the finish line was moved slightly (discussion at about 41:00).

The change appears on the finish map. What’s odd is the mile 13 marker is in the same spot so I’m not sure where they took the extra distance from.
